I have been corresponding with someone from New England who has extremely bad progressive multiple sclerosis. He is under the treatment of his doctor and is showing some early but very promising results. At first he experienced the usual doxycycline nausea but was able to control this by drinking ginger and chamomile tea. He started taking 200mg of doxycycline and 1000mg of metronidazole but in two doses very quickly and hopefully he will soon be adding some probiotics.

News from New England part 2
............For the last fifteen years his feet have been permanently numb but now after just a couple of weeks of treatment the numbness is lessening and he is starting to be able to move the toes of his left foot. His left hand has also been curled up but he is now able to open it and point with his index finger. He also can now let his arm hang loose rather than holding it constantly close to his body.
To many people this might not sound a very big deal unless you have gone through it yourself. For me I started out a highly skilled artist who felt things slipping away over several months. In the end I couldn't even hold a paintbrush. I was devastated.
Maybe I started the treatment at just the right time because I had no troubles with building up to the correct amounts of the antibiotics. In fact, I started off taking the full amounts of everything, just leaving three months before I started taking metronidazole.
The man who I am corresponding with seems to be going along a likewise easy path. I am very pleased for him and hope that soon he will feel able to join the site himself. As a fluent Spanish speaker he might be quite useful to help some people, but for now he needs time.
