Staph infections

Body

I am trying to treat my cpn, not quite sure what I have so far. I am very sick for years with chronic prostatitis, sinusitis ibs and so on.  I started cap on my own  only azithromycin along with some supplements. I started slow with lowest doses possible. Also I have got malessizia, fungi issues as well.

However recently both my prostate fluid culture and my throat culture shows staphylococcus aureus and spp.

What to do, should I keep on with the cap or treat the staph first? What to do for fungal issues on cap? MayI use antifungals like itraconazole with cap?

Comments

Staph in throat and prostate are both sensitive to rifampicin, fusidic acid, ciprofloxacin and tmp smx. They only tested 5 antibiotics or gave me the results of 5.

I tried rifampicin alone? However could not manage to continue because of reactions and in addition idiot infection doctor gave it to me alone and I researched it must not given alone.

Thanks in advance.

DO NOT TAKE ANY FLOXACIN UNLESS LIFE AT THREAT OR NO OTHER ABX COMBINATION WORKING.

just wanted to say this again although you seem to know already.

as for anti fungals it depends on what you have. if you have serious systemic fungal you need something stronger than nystatin e.g. last time i only got candida in stomach/gut and mouth. i used nystatin and amphomoronal and that was it. no real side effects. medication like fluconazol has big potential side effects so choose wisely.

other than that i can not really advise you because you dont really seem to know what you have. if you want to try something without being sure of the diagnosis and you want to try cpn treatment then just do the NAC test first. i took 2400mg at once several days in a row to get symptoms. its not working for everybody though.

Thank you for your comments and suggestions Marvel. Yes I know flox is very dangerous however I ve already used it many times :( . They gave it for my prostatits . I was lucky it worked at that time and caused no huge side efffects. I  trusted doctors I was not skeptic like this time too. Later then I searched it. At that time I can use most of the abx without any side effects. Now I got strange side effects or herx I do not, know when using tetra family and tmp smx.Especially tetra is a nightmare I can not breathe.

I have got tinea versicolor also I suspect from candida too in prostate I really do not know. I have got prescriptions of shampoo , creams, oral intraconazole and fluconazole.

I slowly build my supplements  along with azithromycin 250 mg once a week for a while. tehn if I can tolerate I will increase it mwf and nac 1200 at first. Then will think about what to do more.

I am indecisve about this staph cultures ,treating staph first then later on cpn. Actually I got augmentin which seems to be used in cap treatment too.

doxy and azi give me strange "side effects" too. in "" because you can never be really sure if its from the medication or die off related stuff or whatever. it makes my heart beat in a strange way the last days. but what choice do i have? it gives me a strange body feeling too. pain of course. stiffness. brainfog.

MAKE SURE TO GET QTC/QT TIME CHECKED WHEN ON MACROLIDE ABX VIA ECG REGULARLY

read prescription leaflet. i do it every 2 weeks. im not sure if it is really mentioned in the cap protocols but i advise it to everyone.

i kind of have a love hate relationship with doctors. for me its: NEVER TRUST A DOCTOR UNLESS YOU HAVE TO. better do your own research when possible.

Marvel, I would say that my husband could always be trusted, but then he was a first grade bacteriologist who got me better from MS, a disease thought to be incurable.

Marvel, no worries, I guessed that!

Wolves, also I hope that you didn't take this one with food!

Why did you opt for such a nasty antibiotic?  Reading what is wrong with you, you sound far too ill to be doing this without medical help.

Well At first I did not take it with food. Then started to make a tiny breakfast then took it, hard on soomach. However it was too hard for me to handle it. I could only took it for 3-4 days.

I did not opt for it. A stupid infection doctor gave it to me alone for both positive staph cultures in semen and in throat. And also I have got limited options like fusidic acid , cipro and tmp smx.stupid hospital only tested 5 abx.

I think I have allergy to supra and tetra drugs. Do not want to use cipro beacuse of black box warnings.

Yes I am too ill . However medicinal community does not accept something like long term abx treatment for reactive arthritis or cap treatment as you do. Therefore, I am on my own. No one knows about it or can help me. Just trying to treat myself. you are lucky.

I have one time positive igg result for cpn. positive classified as >25. My result was 43.2. I get tested in a private lab and I made them do it on my because of my curiosity. Show them to infectionist . told past infection.

Today I got augmentin (amoxicillin clavulanate )1000mg but I am not sure to use this one. I got heart problems like palpitations and etc. Should I keep going with nac and azithromycin only for a time. Or treat staph first. I dont know azithro is senstive for staph too. Or nac kills staph too.

Thank you.

Wolves, i can't tell you what to do but what I will say is that I didn't like taking the stuff at all. Firstly I didn't like having to take the stuff on an empty stomach. For a while I felt as though I was losing the improvements I had made with doxy, roxy and metronidazole. I hadn't but that was the way it made me feel. David wanted me to take it because these were early days of the Cap and he was unsure about how long I should carry on just on those three abx.

I took rifampicin for my second six months and I actually carry on improving but had to stop it after the next six months, thank goodness because it is a drug that has to be taken continuously to avoid becoming useless, so couldn't be used in intermittent protocol.

I'm sorry Wolves but all I can tell you is what I did in relation to your case.

you were on rifampicin the second 6 months of your continous CAP treatment? thats good to know for me because i thought you were only on doxy, roxi and metro for 1 year and then intermittent 1 year or 6 months?

would you recommend it? i will have to wait and see what happens with me but i consider doing rifampicin/INH or rifabutin according to stratton when i see no more improvements after some time from the 3 ABx im taking now.

No, I would not recommend it, but then I am not a doctor.  David tried me on rifampicin for those six months because he was at that time,  not used to very long term treatment and had never had anyone on more than six months on anything when treating an infection.

The standard treatment used by both David and Stratton for a Cpn infection is doxycycline, azithromycin or roxythromycin and then pulses of metronidazole.  I could well have got better by never taking rifampicin.  A lot of people stopped the Vanderbilt treatment including non-stop rifampicin because they couldn't stand it.

Thank you. This is something too. I also like to take pills with food other than ppis.

I feel too lost. I have been to lots of professionals best doctors here in Turkey and they came with ridiculous ideas diagnosis and so on. All are useless. They made my illness progress this bad. Used lots of antibiotics however not for a long time as in cap.I would feel myself lucky if I find a doctor prescribe antibiotics here. Even though for chronic prostatitis they say at least 6 weeks treatment needed. I need to work though in this bad shape at such a young age.

I could try at least my best to feel better using supplements antibiotics and herbs.

Thanks everyone for their contributions.

replying to your private message here so others can read too.

im on CAP for around 3 weeks only. sure you cant get supplements online in turkey too? maybe you can import when money is not an issue.

Yes I can order from online sites too. However not succesful at all times. Sometimes it got stucked in the customs. I have to take them with a prescription from a doctor here too. So I had better buy from the local producers or imported products here. I mean you can find all of the vitamins minerals or quercetin bromelain etc however for some herbs and supplements are not accessble still. They are not popular and the benefits are not understood aready here. Afterwards I guess I find tehm too like active charcoal.

I asked you ıf you have ever used erdosteiene? Has anyone used it in the forum? Given for sinusitis. I could not handle even a small dose of nac which is 300 mg / with100 mg vitc. Giving me palpitations raced heart etc.  Also I got a feeling like neuralgia in my left neck and so on. A stabbing feeling I could not understand.

Which probiotic do you use? I got boulardi and lactobasilus rhamnosus. Do you have a blog here? I guess you started cap recently. Therefore I can follow your reactions etc your steps. thanks Marvel for your suggestions Lets not ruin the forum too much with long replies and lots of replies. Will write you in private only if I have to.

Thankyou Wolves for not wanting to clog the site up with long replies. However some people, especially those new to the site, might find them useful.

i havent taken erdosteiene yet and im not planning to right now.

i am using chlorella instead of charcoal. chlorella gave me great results. i noticed a big difference when i started it before getting on the cap. i tried charcoal + chlorella but it gave me no additional benefits and its quite expensive here so i dont use it any longer. only using chlorella now.

i eat kimchi, although i can not eat this every day tbh. im using a multi strain Puritan's Pride Probiotic 10. there is a brand in germany which is specifically designed for antibiotic use and puritans has like 8/10 strains which are used in the one i usually get at home, but im in thailand now. sarah also recommended one which i might use when i get problems like diarrhea. so far i dont have any issues with my gut.

just look on the left side on the main page you can find my "blog" there.
