What happens between pulses?

Body

Hi AllAt the end of my last pulse I really felt like the flagyl was doing it's job I really felt itI  start another pulse and I get dieoff on the first couple days and I am not up to the full dose yetI am curious as to what happens between the end of a pulse and the beginning of a new pulse with these tenacious  organisms?I really have no idea how it survives so wellI am using doxy azith between and during  pulses  Thanks

Good, HominaKeep taking all your stuff - before, during, and after!  I can't tell you why each pulse may be different from the one before or after or every other one.  Eventually you will be able to take all of it every day.  I will be in your cheering section.Rica

3/9 Symptoms returning. Began 5 abx protocol 5/9 Rifampin 600, Amox 1000, Doxy 200, MWF Azith 250, flagyl 1000 daily. Began Sept 04 PPMS EDSS 6.7 Now good days EDSS 1 Mind, like parachute, work only when open. Charlie Chan  In for the duration.&am

Thanks RicaAppreciate the words of encouragement

Isn't it weird?  My recent pulse was #21 and yet it was the worst I have had in a while.  And for some reason I never remember the moppers until about day four of a tough pulse.

Started CAP for Cpn on 11/14/10 - Per my doctor, paused Abx 5/18/13 - NAC, B-complex, Vit D3 (50,000/week), Niacin (100 mg/BID). Started Buhner protocal (2nd edition) on 8/30/16. Currently using a blend of Buhner's Cpn and Mycoplasma protocols

Yes moppers i forget tooWhat do you do for moppers? Thanks

Chlorella is my mopper of choice.  I started my 22nd pulse three days ago and I am taking about 4-5 g per day or chlorella.  So far, this one had been easier. As you know, Homina, trying to find a window to take charcoal while on the Powell protocol of supplements and meds is not easy.  That is why I am not currently taking charcoal.  I would consider going back to it if chlorella seems to lose its effectiveness for me.

Lleach, I see Cholestyramine in your signature,  are you still taking it intermittently?  If not why not, if you don't mind me asking.   Cholestyramine is my mopper of choice for brainfog and fatigue which were my dignostic symptoms and which got so much worse with CAP die off.  I also have used ChitosanUltra (brand name goolge to order) with good success and it is not a rx med.   Ursidiol (synthetic bile salts) has been really good for me too, it supported my liver detoxification by increasing the bile passing through my liver to excrete the toxins which were causing inflamation. Thanks for sharing such a detailed signature.  I think it helps folks explore options and adjuncts to support their CAP experience.     Louise

lleachWhat type of chlorella do you useWhat time of the day in conjunction with flagyl do you use it?

I have been using the NOW tablets - 1 g each.  On this pulse, I have been taking one with each flagyl tablet and then one three times per day with meals.  I want the chlorella to be in my stomach when bile is released.

The bile stimulating cells in the stomach cause the bile to be expelled into the duodenum which is just beyond the stomach.  So it s why the fat stim for any mopper that operates on absorbing the fatty endotoxins in the bile should be given after a fat stim but really after a meal because the on label use of that type of mopper (in this case cholestyramine as it is a rx med, but infact with all moppers whose end goal is to clean up fatty endotoxins in the bile. (Bile salts, by the way can be purchased as a supplement in the health food store, I think it may be cow or bovine bile salts, I will have to look again, never went this root because I have had prescriptions but it is another option for mopping that is not explored much on this website forum.)Reread a few times perhaps you can get what I am trying to say here !  ;0)Louise

lleachDoes Chlorella help you with PEM (Post Exertional Malaise)? Thanks

DAILY:  NAC 2400MG , DHEA sublingual , vit D3 , multi vits,./ Three times  a week: B12 injections (Hydroxycobalamin). Deer antler./  Once every few months methyl B12 Methyl injections

All moppers help by removing lipophyllic (fatty) endotoxins that result from the killing of the bacteria which then gets into the circulation and is difficult to excrete from the body as it is reabsorbed in the small intestine with your meals.   That's why you need moppers to get them out of your system.    The mopper binds the endotoxin and it goes down the toilet with your BM, bowel movements.

I am not sure on that one.  My PEM is mostly gone at this point.  It I tested myself by hiking a few miles on a hunting trip last fall and had no ill effects the next day.  That was about 11 months into the CAP.The only times I feel PEM the day after activity is if I started the day of activity without enough sleep the night before.

okDo you have crashes ?What do you do for that? I haven't forgotten the purpose of this postWhat does Cpn do after a Pulse?Any one?

Homina, there must be some older posts here that go into the detail of the life cycle of the bacteria and how the abx inhibit that cycle and how the abx affects each of those cycles.    If I had  the links easily available I would give them to you.   Maybe someone else will help out.   But the info is available in the archives.   And to write a post to answer your question with any degree of accuracy would take a person a lot of time    ;0)Your question is something that I wondered early on too.   A great question.I would say crashes is your system being overloaded with toxins.  So dealing with toxins whatever you decide to do is important.     And folks saying it is not a problem for them is quite common, yet they have these symptoms that well often fall into the decscription of die off.     No one wants to have any of this.   No one wants to have more than one bacteria or virus,  yet many of us have a mixture and getting the bacterials under control is often very key in allowing your body to start to get the virals under control if you have them.     Testing helps but unfortuanately not so reliable for dx.     A postitive is positive but a negative can well be a false negative and there in is the problem with testing for diagnosis. Most of us learned to budget our energy early on in treatment and find the level of our abilities at any one point in the process of going through CAP.I hope that has been a bit of help to you or at least someone else.   Louise

Louise - I need to update my signature.  I still have chloestyramine as I don't use it anymore.  That is because I got out of the habit and the chlorella is working great for me right now.  I got out of the habit of using all moppers for a little while as I was feeling better.Homina - I don't have severe crashes much now.  I definitely have off-days and even an off-week at times but I don't crash like I used to with chills, bronchitis, etc.As a related side note, I just finished a pulse today and this was the first time in a while that I didn't have porphryia as part of it.  I assume it was due to chlorella which I used very faithfully this time.

lleach, well you are approaching 18 months of treatment soon and you may well be getting to the point that a lot of the CPn has been cleared out and therefore the toxins are less frequently released.   In theory a good reason to have stopped "crashing" as you and Homina are calling die off symptoms or the porphryia as it is often called here.  So good to know your progress continues and life is becoming weller for you!Louise

Crashing is when I overdo it and pay the priceI am better than before but still crashI will try chlorella on those days thanks

Better still try it everyday to prevent it but staying ahead of the acccumulation.  That or a combination of moppers, many have found as a key to better consistent energy due to lack of toxins.

Based on my experience, I agree with Louise.  Take the cholella every day, multiple times per day.  I take 1 g three times a day with meals (so it is there with the bile) between pulses.Homina, have you tried glucose on the strenous days?  Or creatine on days you are dragging?
