Had my first visit last Thursday August 14, 2008 with Dr. Sriram and it was awesome!!

I definetly had reservations (one being having to fly-not my favorte thing to do) as to whether or not this was a good move, but after meeting and talking to him I am so glad that I went.

He's really a nice man, very intelligent, very personable with a sense of humour. Turns out his in-laws only live about 40 miles from me. Such a small world.

He normally treats patients who are still ambulatory. He has the best results with individuals who do not have as much damage as someone in a wheelchair.

He agreed to try me on his protocol for six months to see how I do. If I don't respond favorably after six months he suggested that I go back to conventional methods of treatment.

He changed the protocol I am on now significantly.

I am to take the following medications:

Rifamapin 250mg 2X day
Zithromycin 500mg m,w,f
Tinidazole 100mg 3x day seven days a month
Vitamin D 50000 units week
Vitamin B12 shots weekly
Zanaflex 2mg 1 a day
Calcium Pyruvate 3g 5 days a week

He had blood drawn for the cpn test (so glad he did that) and to check my vitamin levels.

He also recommended water therapy once a week to help the spacisity in my legs.

All in all it was a great trip. Flight was good, weather was wonderful and I left his office with renewed hope that I am on the right track.

I highly recommend that if you can travel to consult with him, do it. He's definitely not afraid to think outside the box.

doglover- I'm so glad you got in to see him. So different to have the guidance and support of a knowledgeable and caring doctor. His evolving protocol seems to have been a good one for those who have reported here. I'll look forward to your coming reports. Sounds like he's not using the pyruvate with you, yes?

hi doglover. how do you take 50000 d orally how often? why tini not flagyl? Good luck! barbara

NAC and glutathione push for years all supplements in protocol)IV vitamins b1-12,F10/29/07 roxy300,doxy200,rifampin300aziyh mwfMS flagyl 1day 500x2 11/23/20074th pulse 2.8.081500mg 8days 7/08 finished 10th pulse on 300 rifamp bid, doxybid 7/2008

He prescribed 3 pills a day so thats a little over 7000 units a day. Not exactly how it is dispensed-tabs or capsules.

He felt tini would be a little bit more effective and it's easier on the stomach.

1.5 grams calcium pyruvate on m, w, f 30 minutes after azith for two weeks, then 3 grams calcium pyruvate m,w,f 30 minutes after azith for 2 weeks, then 3 grams five days a week.

Can't believe I forgot to list that!!

doglover is that supposed to be 100mg tini 3x a day, or is it supposed to be 500mg tini 3x a day?

Hunter: Don't think - experiment

you know it's funny I questioned that too when I saw the prescription but it does say 100 mg. The prescriptions were written by his associate Dr Pawate so I am going to check that Monday.

Hi Linda,

Congratulations about the visit.

It is definitely a mistake. Tindamax comes in 250 and 500 mg tablets and is usually taken twice a day. They will contact the doctor on Monday and it will be corrected.

Good luck. Barbara.

Cured of multiple sclerosis, stopped the Wheldon's protocol in Nov,2008. Use only LDN.

Linda, If you can edit the original post, it would probably help people to put your whole protocol together. Don't know if we can do that with the new version or not..

Congratulations on seeing 'the man'.Image removed.  I think I'll ratchet up my vitamin D from my usual 8-10,000 units a day and talk with my doctor about all of this.  Rifampin, here I come.

Good luck!!!!

Linda, just thought I would mention that you are not brain fogged, you did mention the pyruvate in your original blog.  Your second mention of it gives us much more detail... thanks for that it help us all.

And about 7000 Vit D units a day equals 50.000 units a week which is what you told us in your original blog also.

If you want I can gather all the information and post it when I have done.   You can correct me if I have made a mistake somewhere.   I was going to do it for my own records so if it helps everyone I can post it here too.   Let me know what the outcome of the tinidazole question is.

I'll keep you posted. I emailed Dr. Sriram but I will call tomorrow to make sue he got the email.

Thanks

Linda, whatever the results of your emailing Dr Sriram I am very pleased for you and you do sound so positive now.

Swimming is one of the best things you can do to get your legs moving, because you are effectively weightless when in the water.................Sarah

Linda

So happy for you that you were able to see Dr. Sriram and so glad the appointment went well.  He has been great with me with email.  So for any questions/concerns don't hesitate to email him.

I have switched from flagyl to tini which I begin tomorrow.  It appears that the rest of the protocol is the same is the one I am doing.  It has not been too hard on me-hope it is the same for you!
