Update 4-22-11

Hi folks

I just wanted to do a short post - I am doing much better. The diarrhea is gone completely and my FMS sx have receded quite a bit. Thank you all for the input and help- I really really appreciate the support. I plan to do the Vit C. flush tomorrow if it comes in the mail. Otherwise it will have to wait for several weeks as I am traveling.

I do have another question about one of my new sx which has emerged over the past week. On waking up in the morning, I feel like I have more energy and am more alert. However, around 1230 or so, I totally get mentally fogged up and start feeling physically fatigued. Once or twice emergen-c has helped, if I have rememberd to take it. Any ideas why I get fogged up all of a sudden and why emergen-c helped.

Thanks y'all for such a great community that you have built here.

I don't have experience with emergen-c but I know others on here like it.  I'll leave that part to them.

As to why you would a mental fog around 12:30 pm, does it coincide with lunch?

Because of post-exertion malaise/fatigue, I have always assumed that when we are up and active we increase the die-off effects.  I am not expert enough in biology to explain whether the cell pH is affected by our activity or if the increased ATP to our cells during activity increases the active load that is senstive to antibiotics.

Based on my own experiences, I sometimes get die-off effects after eating.  I have always assumed that the food provided my body with increased energy to fight the infection.

Started CAP for Cpn on 11/14/10 - Per my doctor, paused Abx 5/18/13 - NAC, T3, St Johns Wort, B-complex, Vit C, Vit D3 (8,000/day), Vit E, Astragalus, Chlorella, Chelation with Alpha Lipoic Acid. Started Buhner protocal (2nd edition) on 8/30/16.

Any ideas why I get fogged up all of a sudden and why emergen-c helped.

Could it be endotoxins hitting you and that's why the Emergen-C helps??   At what time do you take your last ABX the night before?

Some here [I know there was an old  discussion by Michele re her daughter Ella] (myself included) would have "episodes", so to speak around eating.  Being ravenous to the point of almost salivating for food and then upon eating feeling terrible... sometimes swaying between feeling hypoglycemic to overload.  I usually felt better eating carbs.

In that discussion it was thought to be attributed to porphria.

@Illeach  If anything wouldn't exercising deplete, not increase ATP, (at least in my understanding of it)... which could add to this as well, since CPN uses up ATP (more depletion) and eating anything speeds up our body process which uses energy (more depletion)......

Hopefully, this will subside or go away the longer you are on the protocol, it did for me.

I've been struggling to keep my energy levels up. Have a lot of stress these days in my life which is also causing a flare-up of sx and reducing energy. I come home from work and sit on the couch and do nothing.

lleach, thanks. Your explanation makes sense to me. However, this does not happen after breakfast. Altho breakfast is usu a chunk of cheese and I typically have a mix of carbs and protein at lunch. I know I am sensitive to carbs so perhaps this would be worth an experiment.

JeanneRoz -I do feel ravenous for food. This has started I started the protocol.  I used to be able to do 16-18 hour fasts before. Now that is virtually impossible. I do feel better with carbs like sweet potatoes tho my craving for carbs is higher on this protocol.

I have noticed significant anxiety with the abx, so I try to take them early in the morning, then take vitamins, and then abx around 2:30/3. Then in the eve I take probiotics. Last week I was really sick and my timing has been a bit off with meds.
