Three Cheers for...

Just wanted to give a shout out and THREE CHEERS FOR MICHELE !

Sure other's have noticed how much effort Michele has put in to organizing the materials on the site, the book pages and the sheer volume of information she is managing.   Doing so to help all of the new site visitors get the best start with information, ideas and solutions !

Michele - I always marvel at you!  Not only do you look after your own family and deal with their illnesses, but you manage your own illness and help so very many people here!

Can't tell you how many times your advice and comments have helped me.

I hope you all understand what a mission this is for Michele. She and I have been talking about rewriting the Handbook for quite a while, but other projects ensued like life and work! With the influx of lots of new people, all of whom get a personal contact from her to guide them onto the site, she really got galvanized on generating the First Steps (it's coming name) handbook and guide, and now is working away at the Second Steps. I've been designing a new site layout to present a much clearer front page (home page) for new arrivals, and an easier management of navigation, and I'm guided by Michele's vision about what new folks need to see as she has the real touch and dedication to this issue. She's been the "managing partner" here in growing ways and I'm very, very grateful for her presence and work here.

Oh shucks...  (blush-blush-blush)

I marvel at the depth of knowledge, humour, imagination and resources that all of you bring to this site.   My strengths lie else where, mostly in digesting and regurgitating material, a bit like a mother bird... So that is what I am doing.   It's taken me a while to know that I could and to have the courage to change things that, after all, have worked well for three years, but eventually I was pushed into it, not only by my own exasperation at constantly repeating myself but also at everyone elses frustrations.

In my life I'm always looking for ways of saving time, making things more efficient to allow myself dreaming time, creating time, and fun time, so in the end this is what prompted me to do what I did with the handbooks.

Please do not hesitate to suggest things, proof read, point out errors of content or science.   I will change any real discrepencies, but reserve the right to spell in the Queen's English.

I'm still interested in hearing about changes you would like to see, information you would like to read or how we could organise the more technical or scientific material.

I could not have done this without Jim's encouragement and discussions on content and guiding phylosophical principles.   In second steps most of the material will have been written by Jim and other people (Marie, Cypriane, Red, Sarah and others), I'm just drawing it all together in a sequential order.

And yes I have had time for creative stuff.  I've taken part in the Brighton Festival of Arts,  every May there is an extensive programme of theatre, dance, music in all shapes and sizes as well as a collection of 'open houses', where artist open up their homes to the public to show their and other invited artists' work.   I was in several venues and had my most successful selling May in 3 years.   Most due to the fact that I have done some work this year... I'll post a couple of images shortly to show you some of the things I have sold.

How do I find the time?   I let Hamish do the house work... He seems to enjoy it and I loath it.   I am more the head under the 'hood' (bonnet of a car) kind of woman, I fix things that break, solve problems, design things, tell others what to do in the garden (much more fun than doing it yourself), listen to people's problems, try and keep a rational frame of mind, solve problems, solve problems (did I say solve problems?).   You get the picture.

Thanks for your appreciation, I'll just keep busying myself in the background while all of you come up with new material for me to organise and categorise.

Michele, you have done a fantastic job of gathering in many of our suggestions and creating lucid manifestations of the concepts that are so important for working with CAPs.   You may even hae more time now to express more creativity and have a huge amount of work to share next May.  Will be looking forward to your sharing of the next Festival.    I wish someone here would enjoy the housework Wink.

Though I am still flagyllized and was planning to wait till I am out of the water, so to speak, I have to add my thanks, Michele. Your last post clarified bits for me: Richard does the grocery and other shopping, straightens things up (which I am REALLY no good at) and gets a long list of essentials done while I am still standing looking lost. I am better at one big job - build a barn, repair a fence, etc. All this is a bewildered look at what you and "others" have done to update and reorganize. Dear mother of Ella, who would long ago have been lost without you, thanks to you.
