Are your Vitamin D results accurate?

Dr. Mercola has alerted us to problems in the measurement of Vitamin Di testing from different labs. He also explains the process of measurement nicely. Worth looking at if you've been tested from Quest. Thanks to Dr. Powell for sending this alert on.

Temporary Theme Change (How Site looks)

Well, for completely unknown reasons the default Theme for cpnhelp, called Fancy, broke! It would no longer display the tabs at the top for the primary links. So, I've temporarily replaced it with another as the site default.

We are working on a really beautiful, easy to use new theme but it requires a lot more configuration before it's usable, and it's Saturday, and I've spent way too long in front of the computer today!

If you can't get the links, go to 'my account/edit" and select either Marvin, Chameleon, or Blue Marine.

Site Switchover Next Day Or So

With any luck we should be switched over to the new upgraded software in the next day or so. You shouldn't notice any differences really, although the signatures on the blogs may start to appear. Hopefully we'll be better protected from spammers and have some speed improvements. Then over the next month or so some of us will be putting together a new design for the site which will present a clearer format for new folks, more familiar looking forum formating, and some other improvements.

But if you find the site off line for a couple hours, you'll know what's up! Keep your fingers crossed.

Missing Sidebar Blocks? Don't panic...

I've made most of the sidebar blocks like the poll, new comments, etc. hidden unless you select them yourself to show them. Trying to help clean up the confusng page elements for new folks to the site.

If you want them back, just go to 'my account/edit' and check which ones you want to show up. No worries!

Site Upgrade Is Upon Us

With any luck, we will be getting a site upgrade sometime in the next couple days. So there may be a time when you can't log in or find the site for a couple hours. Don't panic, we'll be back.

We are badly in need of updating to the current Drupal system, enhancing security, getting functions to work as they should, and even adding a few extras (I'm hopeful we'll get a chat system going again). Those of you who have donated $, this is where a chunk is going! Thanks!

Little mention in CFID's/ME site

Seems one of our members is keeping their letters to the editor up to date. Thanks for the mention:

Finally, easy images!

Thanks to Daisy's urging I finally got the Image Assist module working, which will make it easy to upload and add images to a post as well as utilize existing images in the Image Gallery.

In the Tinymce editor (Rich Text setting) you will see a little camera icon. Click it and a popup window gives you the choice to see your image library (one's you've already uploaded), the general gallery or upload a new image.

Multiple images are possible, but watch your sizing. These are thumbnails. Elvis: ElvisElvis: ElvisThe Cave: The Cave by Sarah LonglandsThe Cave: The Cave by Sarah Longlands

One thing you can't do at Cpnhelp.org

We have gotten to be a chummy and even relentlessly helpful website. All to the good, but sometimes we forget some of the basic agreements we have here, so I thought I'd post a commentary to remind us. When you joined you checked off your compliance with Site Terms and Usage and I would urge you to review those terms from the link I've given.

The most important reminder, especially from me as site owner, is to help calm my already anxious and somewhat neurotic nature, prone to panic (I'm a therapist, remember?):

Website Improvements Wish List?

Comments on another thread have made it clear that some people have found using www.cpnhelp.org difficult. I take these expressions seriously, and God knows we who are sick, brain fogged, computer challenged and porphyric don't need another aggravation!

There have been a number of things I've not been happy with about Drupal (the CMS web system we use). The rich text editor has inconsistencies between browsers (this is true for all of them in other systems as well), configuration is complicated and multilayered.

A Window on Cpn

A Window on Cpni

For thirty years now, I have been asking what ails my scalp and suddenly I seem to be getting some answers.

I am not going to write a scientific paper, it’s not my forte. What I am good at though is observation and this is what I am going to record here. I will venture to make some hypothesis or extrapolations from observing what is happening to my scalp to see if it can serve as a model for what may be happening inside my body. In other words is what is happening on my head a reflection of what is happening inside?

Welcome Back!

Well, it's been interesting... As is per usual in computer-land, the attempt to solve one problem created a host of others. The heroic work of our helper Bleu has us restored to function, but it won't be pretty for a while. It will take me some time to put back together the way we had things working with the upgraded system. So, please be patient, and hold off alerting me about problems with the site for a week at least so as to give time for things to get reorganized. Thanks for your patience!
