Study: NADPH Oxidase 2 and Cathelicidin Expression

Red

Another apparently important interaction, this time between NADPH Oxidase 2 and cathelidicins:

NADPH Oxidase 2 Interaction with TLR2 Is Required for Efficient Innate Immune Responses to Mycobacteria via Cathelicidin Expression.

From what I have read NOX (nitrogen oxide)is the over all heading for many variations such as nitric oxide.

From the study you posted, I gather that NO helps aid cathelicidins to mount an effective immune response?

This is a different NOX. Commonly NOx is a shorthand for mixtures of NO and NO2, but this paper is using NOX as an abbreviation for NADPH oxidase (a protein, not a tiny molecule like NO).
