Started amoxicillin

In the early hours of this morning, I took Rica's advice; I bit the bullet and opened a big tub containing 500 x 500mg capsules of amoxicillin.  I have already popped the 2nd one.

In just under a month's time, I shall burst open the big polythene bag containing lots of boxes of Rifampicin - gifted me by one of our Eastern European-based members (thank you).  I can't start until then because I need to be assured of a further supply so that the treatment can continue uninterrupted.  I know that rifampicin resistance is easily possible if treatment is paused or not followed as directed.  Of course, it may well be that I am totally well by the middle of next month.  That may not happen but I will always be the eternal optimist.

Let's hope that the new regime works well for you.I'm going to Bulgaria in May. if Eric is available to buy off script, I'll get some for you xx

i have been wondering if i need to change antibiotics, just not sure what to change.  i have been doing this for over 4 years and have had big reductions in function.  i have had some improvements too but not in walking except at the begining before metro.

goodluck supaguy i look forward to reading about the results.

MS Diagnosed 07/03/05, copaxone Jan 2011 to Jan 2013, started doxy 13/10/12, started roxy 06/11/12, increased doxy 28/11/12. first metro pulse 01/01/13. Tini Dec 2014. Fampyra,B12,Vit C,Vit D3,Vit E,Vit K2, NAC,ALA,AcetylL-Carnitine,Fish oil,

In my experience, the reductions are the result of the abx working.  They are not going to be permanent.  Keep to the program - add, don't change.  I am not a doctor and can only say what has worked for me.  I have been on the same five abx for years.  I still have "setbacks", reductions, but nothing like in the past.

This is wonderful!  For fourteen or more years I have done this.  Yes, there are many, many setbarks but then you discover that you can do something - maybe tiny, but significant nevertheless - that you couldn't before - maybe for years.  Or it may be a little bit of mental improvement.

These improvements come and go, especially go, especially when you are taking more abx.  But that is also definitely the time to stay with it - and us.  When you have gone "into the fog" and have stayed there for days or even months, eventually you will have a step forward.  Do not be afraid, eat very well, and take your meds.

For me, a least, this has been the magic.  At times, I thought I would never emerge.  I am still recovering things I thought were gone forever.  I am now seventy-seven years old!  I wasn't looking!  There are so many things I want to do.  You are probably younger and have much in the future to do!

So stay with it.  And always remember - there are NO dumb questions.
