Skin & eye light sensitivity

Submitted by Janice C on Tue, 2008-08-12 10:18
For 30 years my eyes were so sensitive that when I opened my front door I would squint my eyes to slits at the indirect sunlight. For about 20 years my skin would not tan. I recently spent a day at outdoor hot mineral springs. I didn't need sunglasses or a hat. My skin has started tanning again. Alas, I have white spots. I guess those are my dapples to go with my Rudolph's red nose. My hands aren't cartoon red like they used to be, but they are still red. If I press a fingertip into the red skin, it blanches for a couple of seconds.

Way to go Janice, you must be feeling well pleased with yourself. What are a few white spots between friends?

Hopefully the rest will follow and Rudolph will have to find someone else to play with.

Hi Janice,

This is all very good news!  Image removed.

How long have you been on CAP?

NAC 2.4g, Zith 250mg/MWF, mino 200mg, Tini 5day/1g/5 pulses, Valcyte
Supplements, CFIDS/FMS, Hashimoto's, Psoriasis, PA, IBS, Sec Addisons

Don't believe everything you think!

Great, Janice! You've been with this a while (2 years 34 weeks by your profile) and it's paying off.

CAP for Cpn 11/04. Dx: 25+yrs CFS & FMS. Currently: 250 aithromycin mwf, doxycycline 100mg BID, restarted Tini pulses; Vit D2000 units, T4 & T3, 6mg Iodoral

I've been on CAP 2 and one half years. I think I don't have the porphyrins in my eyes like I used to. When I was on CAP about a year I had big, clear chrystalline worms in my vision. They weren't floaters. I think the metronidazole was working on something in the optic nerve or brain.

minocycline, azithromycine, metronidazole 2007-2009, chelation for lead poisoning, muscle pain, insomnia, interstitial cystitis (almost well), sinus, dry eyes, stiff neck, veins, hypothyroid, TMJ, hip joints (no longer hurt)

Good news Janice.   I hope that all continues to progress well for you.

Michèle (UK) GFA: Wheldon CAP 1st May 2006. Daily Doxy, Azi MWF, metro pulse.

Janice, I realized when I saw your remark that my "worms" are completely gone, too! As pretty as they were, I don't miss them. Right now I am taking a good look - from my side - and also realize that my many floaters are also gone. They may be back, but for the moment....They have been around for decades. All this is encouraging. I must remember to tell my ophthalmologist.

3/9 Symptoms returning. Began 5 abx protocol 5/9 Rifampin 600, Amox 1000, Doxy 200, MWF Azith 250, flagyl 1000 daily. Began Sept 04 PPMS EDSS 6.7 Now good days EDSS 1 Mind, like parachute, work only when open. Charlie Chan  In for the duration.&am

For a skin update: at the end of this summer my arms have tanned without any sunbathing, and the white spots are gone.

minocycline, azithromycine, metronidazole 2007-2009, chelation for lead poisoning, muscle pain, insomnia, interstitial cystitis (almost well), sinus, dry eyes, stiff neck, veins, hypothyroid, TMJ, hip joints (no longer hurt)

Red

Hi Janice,

I actually tan pretty well now too, much more like when I was a kid, instead of burning and peeling and remaining white (if not red!) like before.  Many of the odd white spots that wouldn't tan at all also seem to be gone for me too, and many freckles, moles and other odd dark spots are also gone or going.   I can't tell you how many odd skin tags, odd spots, etc have also disappeaed.     It's truly amazing, isn't it?

I'm still a work in progress of course.   I figure it took me years to get this way, so why would I expect to be "perfect" again in a shorter amount of time.  By the time I'm 90 though, I'm going to be awfully handsome! Image removed.

Continued great luck!   So glad to hear you are doing better!
