Seeking Doctor in Michigan (Detroit area)

Hi forum members,

In September of 2010, I had a somewhat sudden onset of breathing problems.  I've never had an allergy in my life or any breathing problems that I remember.  I've spent the last year seeing doctors, trying to nail down exactly what my diagnosis is.  So far, I've been diagnosed with asthmaii and COPD (Haven't smoked a day in my life!).

I sang from grade school to college and had picked it up again in my late 30's.  As soon as this breathing problem started, I couldn't even sing a note (and still can't).  I've worked out regularly since I was 18, and now doing regular cardio/aerobic workouts is extremely difficult.  This has been a difficult year for me (understatement).  I am not prepared to accept the loss of singing and the loss of activity level that these symptoms have caused.

Medications do not TOUCH the breathing problems I have had (Flovent, ProAir, Singulair, Spiriva; Tried Advair for a bit).

My hope soared as I read more and more about possible treatment with antibioticsii for my symptoms.  I don't know how unlikely it is that this treatment could help. . . and I hate pinning my hopes on something that might not work in the end.  However, I do not want to live the rest of my life like this.

At this point, I have not found a doctor willing to treat me with antibiotics for possible infection with Chlamydophilia Pneumoniae (even though a couple of the pulmonologists I've seen are very highly regarded).  My primary reason for posting is to ask if anyone is aware of a doctor(s) in Michigan (Detroit area, specifically) willing to treat with antibiotics for possible Chlamydiophilia Pneumoniae infection.  I am anxious to talk to a doctor (or medical professional) knowledgeable about this bacteria and/or its treatment.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.  Would appreciate any info (especially related to asthma and COPD) forum members could provide.

Sincerely,
