Sauna while taking antibiotics?

Body

Hello all,I am currently on Doxy 200mg and Roxi 300mg per day. I would like to start going to sauna again as I did before.Can somebody write me whether it is a good idea to take sauna while taking antibiotics or not? I know it can have good effects on antibiotics distribution etc. but how does it stress the body?How big load for body ATBs are and what can be the negative effetcs on cardiovascular system taking sauna while on ATBs?Should I be worried of heart-attack or some other complications? Many thanks.

I've done IR sauna with antibiotics. It definitely potentiates die-off symptoms, so start with small increments and work up. Usually you are gearing for 20-30 minutes twice a day, but I'd start with 10 minutes once a day.

There should not be any contraindications unless you already have them for heat or sauna use, eg heart disease, heat intolerance, etc. Many people with MS are heat intolerant and so would not use IR sauna until their condition had improved enough on the CAP to allow it.

CAP for Chlamydia pneumonia since 11/04. 25yrs CFS & FMS- Currently: 200 Doxycycline, 500mg MWF Azithromycin, Tini pulses.

Thanks WBJam,  Three weeks tomorrow! Were your gastro-intesinal problems were they improved before starting WP CAP?

And only because of my immense curiosity about this global community, what continent are you on?

Are you a previous sauna user?

Are you experiencing increased fatigue, brain fog or muscle-joint pain since starting the Doxy/Roxi and 1200 NAC.   I ask because you are on the fast track, a bit like I started and I had increased fatigue, brain fog and body aches, etc symptoms of illness with my start on the protocol.

I breathed heavily on exertion and had to take movement slowly.  The added heat of high summer added to the intensity of the experience.

For me at that time, sauna heat would have been overload.

Having said that many folks do use sauna here and will be by to share their perspective.  Check your post in several days and see who answers.

I may look into a FIR sauna at some point in the future.

Thanks for telling us more about your situation.  I am looking forward to your future posts and to everyone's comments to your questions.

It's hard to say whether CAP improved my GI problems since during the whole last year I had short good periods, approx. twice I was 70% fine for 1 month. Now GI has been fine for about a month and if it will stay like this, it will be probably thanks to CAP.

To answer all your questions...I am from Central Europe.

Yes, I used to be regular hot sauna user (no IR, not too much steam either) and I enjoyed it greatly. That used to be the best relax of the week for me. Now I am little bit afraid about taking hot sauna again since my doctor doesn't recommend it (saying already ATBs load the body too much and in combination with sauna it can be overload), but I am not sure whether it is really a well-founded statement or just general warning.

I must say that since starting with Doxy things got better after first week on it. I hadn't any reaction on NAC, but after week on Doxy the brain-fog went away, after the second week the pain in soles with every step almost disappeared.

The tingling in my left elbow and fingers remains more or less the same. This was the first thing which occured to me in July, although not painful, I found it uncomfortable. At the same time I got pretty bad sinusitis which went away in about a week. Then things seemed to be slowly improving towards normal for another week, while the next week fatigue and muscle pain/weakness began along with stiff neck. My doctor prescribed me Azi (Lyme suspision) which I took in 1g for first two days, then 500mg for next 4 days. On 3rd day of Azi I was feeling nailed to bed, weak, unable to move. However, it lasted only for that day. After finishing with Azi I was fine for a week, but then everything returned and came to symptoms as in my signature. Walking the stairs really made me breath heavily and my muscles were trembling for next two hours.

Five days ago I started with Roxi and haven't seen any effect so far. In general things are much better then before, except for the elbow/fingers tingling, but I am able to work and only notice local pains which I can ignore so far. However, every other day or so I get some pretty bad feeling, vertigo, nausea, weakness which lasts anywhere between 2 and 15 hours.

I see my post is quite long, I guess I can put in a separate blog in a while.

Thanks all for reading these posts and taking care.

As Jim says, the sauna amplifies the effect of the antibiotics. But at the same time, it helps to remove toxins faster than anything I have ever used. I was on the CAP for about a year and a half before I began using it and noticed some very significant die off.
I began with 30 minutes twice a day but I think it would be good to start with a much shorter time once a day.
It certainly helps with sore muscles.

I use a IR sauna that doesn't need to heat up the air but radiates heat to the body.
