relapse or CAP side effect?

I am feeling very bad all of the sudden. As I am typing I hva=e to keep my arm s on the desk for support so weak I am. Feels like blood vessels consricted all over the body. I am in chills, cold extremities. Pulse is weak too.  I've been on Rif 600 mg /daily and Doxy 200/daily since Feb'08 for arthritis, CPn (+) and Lyme. If you see my previous blog I was doing great and returned to many regular activities. This past month I 've noticed increased joint/muscle pain, brain fog back a few times. Yesterday was weak and brain for I thought PMS. Tonight unwellness started with chills and it's getting worse with spasms, I even have uncontrolled tears. What's going on with me?

Is it possible endotoxin effects even 6 mns into tx after feeling so good? Or may be it's side effects of long-term CAP? I've never had problems with liver enzymes or other blood work and I am due to new draw next week?

I'll appreciate any input

I read you where on RIF and Doxy. Is that the complete protocol? Also do you take the supplments and NAC. And dont forget the charcoal and Vitmain C flushes. I find that if I let up on the supplemtns I start feeling worse.

Fibro, CFS,  Myco, CPN, Stratton protocol, Zithro 500mg M/W/F/S, Doxy 100mg 2x day, NAC 1200mg 2x day, Flagyl and INH 2 week pulses 400 mg 3x day, Rifampin, 300mg 2x day,  Still cant shake it but improving.

In addition to abx I also take probiotic, high-dose multie, eat high-fiber diet (lots of legumes). I get a lot of sun exposure last 2 mns so I don't take vit.D and no NAC. I started extra vitC and folic acid last month.

Arthritic have you read the recently added Getting Started pages.  The tab for them can be found at the top of this webpage in blue, click there.

Specifically review the list that can be found there Reactions and Remedies, the link is here:

http://www.cpnhelp.org/reactions_and_remedies click it and match your symptoms and see if you can indentify your self in the list.

Even a year into the process and aftetr feeling so much better I just this week have taken so far 3 days of Cholestyramine for porphoria fatigue as I am beginning to call the event after pulsing.     When I went down I went down fast however within three days of dosing I am once again much improved.

Anyway that is how it happens for me and how I help myself through it.  See my signature for the details of what works for me.

Thanks again, Louise, it's a great brief chart and I think I am having all 3 components as the causes of my illness: porfyria, LPS and cytokines acting up. I am trying more C and glycose and it makes things more manageable.

Anyone skips abx when they have these episodes?

One more possibility, in addition to the endotoxin (chills, aches) and porphyria (depression, tearyness, brain fog) build up which you have got to take care of with the moppers--- Charcoal, charcoal, Vitamin C; Charcoal, charcoal, yah team!---  you may be building up more and more cryptic Cpn. Cryptic Cpn operate with an endotoxin that is highly inflammatory: body aches galore. So if you aren't doing flagyl pulses to knock down the cryptic load, as well as getting at the cystic form of the Borellia, this could contribute to feeling worse. The Rif/doxy combo is really excellent for the RB form of Cpn, but you aren't covering the other life phases and so just chase it from one form into another for it's survival. Gotta do the whole thing to kill the whole thing!

CAP for Cpn 11/04. Dx: 25+yrs CFS & FMS. Currently: 250 aithromycin mwf, doxycycline 100mg BID, restarted Tini pulses; Vit D2000 units, T4 & T3, 6mg Iodoral

Thanks, Jim. I got Rx for Flagyl 1.5 mns ago but have been scared to start it. Having lived thru all these die-offs made a chicken out of me. :) Before this episode I was going to start Flagyl this week. Now I am collecting strength for next week.

About feeling worse due to cryptic build up. I have been doing pretty good with the protocol thus far although, my cpn load is pretty high so I've been taking it slow. I have accomplished the Daily Doxy.100 and just started the Azith. m/w/f. Since this is not killing the EB'S and I have had a horrible reactions to NAC. I have noticed improvements with symptoms but it my cryptic load is geeting higher, what would be the best approach at this point?

started Wheldon cap 4/21/08 for Cpn, CMV, EBV, CFS. Cap hold 4/09vascultis. Restart 9/09 with Dr.Powell, restore gut, 4000 D3, supplements,  Pos. Bartonella and Babesia, Rifampin 600 mgs and Biaxon 1 gram.

Nata- just start with one! One dose pulse, that's it. No need to panic.
