Hi all,

Started NACi [1] 7/23. Began with 1 capi [2] every other day and am currently up 1 per day. Initially caused sinus like headache and congestion. Plan on upping dosage and was wondering if it can be taken along with other supplementsi [3] or should it be taken solo. Also- better taken with/without food... or does it matter?

thanks

Well you got a reaction and on a very low dose too - welcome to the CPNi [4] afflicted club! We aim to work upto 2400mg every day, but you may find that you have to work up to that gradually. I take mine with the other supplementsi [3] sometimes with food and sometimes without, it just depends on how organised I am that day.

This is one supplement that is a lifeling committment for keeping CPN under control.

Without food is probably

Without food is probably best as its an amino and aminos are absorbed competitively. But taking it with other supps should be fine.

Take it especially with vitamin C and vitamin E.  Start taking all the recommended supplementsi [3] as soon as possible too.  I'm a big fan of selenium.

I confess that I always take it with meals, so you may want to experiment yourself to see if it matters (judging by your reactions to it).

Thank you all for your responses.

I'm almost up to all the required supps. Have also increased Vit C  (in divided doses). Read somewhere Vit C intake should be 2x as much as NACi [1] due to oxidative issues.

To create the signature in your profile: go to my account in the blue edged box on the left, you will be taken to your profile. Click on the edit tab and at the end of the page there is a window in which you can write your signature. Some of us find there is a limit to how much we can write in the box that will show up in our signature, so you may have to experiment with it a bit. It is difficult for others to remember the details of each and everyone’s health condition, a signature helps us remember you.
