Oxygen/ozone therapy used in chronic illness

I found a very good article on the Prohealtlh site on the effects of O2 therapy. The information may be very helpful to those who are dealing with lyme or CFS. The many benefits of oxygen in killing anerobic pathagens could be adjunct to CAP.

Thanks for posting this Bonnie. I believe in the sauna as a great adjunct treatment. The mild hyperbaric is interesting. i know the treatments at a clinic are pretty expensive. Here is the link for the home chambers: http://www.vitao2.com/

What sounded so familiar to me was the author's description of the constant buzzing sensations. I just got tested for Lyme and co infections and should find out the results soon.

I bought a small oxygen concentrator and I'm using it right now. But it may not be enough to kill infections.

I may ask Dr. P. about this.

Feeling 98% well-going for 100. Very low test for Cpn. CAP since 8-05 for Cpn/Mycoplasma P.,Lyme, Bartonella, Mold exposure,NAC,BHRT, MethyB12 FIR Sauna. 1-18-11 begin new treatment plan with naturopath

Raven, I am also using a oxygen concentrator at 5 lpm via nasal cannula. It has been killing many anerobic bacteria, including yeast in my gut. The die off is very strong and the next day my head feels heavy with brain fog. There is less fibromyagia pan and my energy level is slowly improving.

Dr. P. has told me that many of his CFS patients have higher levels of carbon monoxide in their blood levels. This inpart can be from gut bacteria pooling hydrogen sulfide gas which is very toxic to the mitochodria and cells.

Their are blood tests and breath tests that can measure this level. Most GI specialists are unfamiliar with the hydrogen sulfide problem and suggest taking anti acids and pain medications. The breath test is measured with an ETCO2 monitor and many pulmonary physicians use them on their COPD patients. The GI system is known to be the main componate in good immune health.

Bonnie, Thanks for the post and the link http://www.prohealth.com/library/showarticle.cfm?libid=10041

Raven, http://www.vitao2.com/ is this the concentrator that you have been using?

Bonnie, is the link above to the one that you are using? Or is there another link for the one that you have?   How many hours per week do you use it?    It is great to learn about all potential adjuncts to treatment of Chronic Bacterial Infections.

Louise,

I am renting a oxygen concentrator from a home medical company. My prescription is to use 5lpm O2 for two hours a day.  The higher the oxygen percent the better for therapudic tissue penitration. It can be very difficult to get your insurance company to cover the cost for "non traditional" treatments.

I just bought a small Zadro machine on Amazon. It has a cannula but would probably work better with a mask. It is supposed to deliver 30% more oxygen than air around us. Raven

I am bringing back this subject for us, the new members to discuss about Oxygen x Cpn.

As Cpn are anaerobic, they can not survive in an oxygenated envoiromment, can they?

I am starting Hydrogen Peroxid drink doses tomorrow, at home, and next week HP IV.

If no one has tried the 3 months treat, I will, because then I will have known for myself. Risks? No, maybe I have to stay On CAP.

But I will try hard!

Oh Norman, I recognise the pine trees!

Completed Stratton/Wheldon regime for aggressive secondary progressive MS in June 2007, after four years, three of which intermittent.   Still improving bit by bit and no relapses since finishing treatment.

The lungs are the best-oxygenated tissue in the whole body, and Cpn infects them just fine; it's not called "pneumoniae" for nothing.

Well, don't tell me Cpn like oxygen, I am quite sure it Does not. If hydrogen peroxid was so bad, there would not be so many people talking good about it based On their own experience. One thing is for sure, we (Cpn sufferes) are poor in oxygen and energy, and having that supplied would help, at least to fight the desiese.

I am doing it 3x a day, at home and, after a few weeks, I will let you guys know what the results will have been.

Still, it would not make sense that Cpn, as anaerobe bact. would like oxygen, knowing that, from what I know, it cannot create a resistance gene On oxygen - CorrecT me thereM if there evidencies saying the opposite.
