I have been on flagyl now for 2 weeks with zero incedent. I can feel the drug penetrating into my jawbone and its actually now localizing at the site where I had a tooth rot into my head when i was 17. There is an abcess in there too i guess, the bone really hurts in that one spot. This is the same phenomenum Ive been experiencing just before the pain dissapates at certain sites in my facial area. At one point it was nasal bones and the area of the big bite and also the facial blow but now they are almost ok.
I find it so bizarre that to have an anerobic infection this bad and it doesnt even show up in any major significant way on radiographs except one tiny possible spot... its just bizarre. Even on the ct scan this paticular site where Im having pain now, doesnt show a thing yet just to touch the bone on my face causes pretty bad pain. Its a good pain though because its just the bone, and not in the tissues, so im not swollen and it doesnt really hurt all that much unless you press on it.
Im scared to have hope that this will curative because in my head this is my last chance and its either this will cure or I will give up living. Im scared of false hope but I can tell you that I know 100% that in my case, this is infection and not MSi and if it is MS then MS is caused by infection.
I hope for the sake of the drug companies and dr's I dont get better because if i do they are going to wish they never heard of me.
If i have suffered for this many years and have had my life destroyed over something that could have been cured and treated with a little time and effort... Im telling you, thats it, they will have the messenger from hell on thier hands
Im happy that im getting better, yet angry that the drugs are confirming what i already know, yet terrified to have any false hope.

I hope that you will get better because I'm looking forward to the fun! But remember as Ruth says to expect the unexpected post pulse. I found the time following pulses to be challenging, to say the least.
Good luck.

Good day Clammed Up.
I think it is very interesting as well as very painful to experience CAPi with tooth/jaw issues. When I first got so sick in 2001-02 I could no longer function at a normal level my initial pain was in my right temple, right eye and right front tooth with excruciating migraines.
When I was a girl I broke my right front tooth in a fall so later it became abcessed and I had to have a root canal which took months of treatment. It had died & I had to have it capped. So I found it fascinating that this is where a deep seated infection must have lay that was never fully eradicated. So like I said ... when my immunei system began to fail in 2001 the first place it really struck me hard was there. The CAP I was on 2004-08 really hit me hard in my teeth and jaws. So I can relate to some of your story and frustration and pain.
(saying the following with tongue in cheek) Before CAP ... funny when after my dentist & oral surgeon finally did a new root canal and crown & it did not help me they put me on amoxicillini for seven days ... oh wonders... my pain cleared right up. Then a week or two later when of antibioticsi it came roaring back again. Why don't they ever put 2+2 together? Takes years to find the answer but now that I'm on to it .... look out! Fight is on!
I pray you are healing all together now in your tender facial, teeth, jaw, etc. areas. It is really brutal having it so close to your brain I know. I can't even say I look forward to the day I am back on a CAP. But I will remember your story for strength to overcome.
Be well Clammed Up. Never give up. You are a fighter! Roaring with ya. MM

I look forward to them wishing they never heard from you too! The psychologist in me can't help but note curing of your jaw coinciding with wanting to get your teeth into the drug companies!
Dr. Stratton told me that the start to his researches into Cpni was when he was called in to consult on a patient with a mysterious bone marrow infection that the usual antibioticsi weren't curing. From his work to figure that problem out, the rest is our history. So it might help to know that your "little spot" goes right to the marrow of the Cpn CAPi!
