Tonsils

Body

Hello Everyone,

I was recently diagnosed with CPN. For the past year I have had trouble with my tonsils. I started Strattons protocol and can only take 1 NAC so far. When I take it my tonsils burn. White stuff has been coming out of both tonsils now. If I eat it makes it worse. Sometimes they feel so full it is harder to breathe and makes me anxious. Anyone else have this problem while taking NAC?

I am confused by your post.  Can you provide a broad overview and more detail?  To start, how were you diagnosed with Cpn (name of test)?  I assume that the beginning of the trouble with your tonsils roughly corresponds with the initial infection with Cpn - is that correct in your opinion or your doctor's opinion?  Have you had other symptoms in the past year besides the tonsils?  Stratton has 2 protocols: one for antibiotics and one for supplements - which one are you referring to?  Have you been prescribed any antibiotics?  Have you seen your doctor since you get this reaction from NAC and told him about it?

2 years ago I travelled to the states and developed what the doctors thought was pneumonia. I was on antibiotics and it cleared up. Fast forward to last summer and i was stung by a wasp and had a big reaction. My body went crazy and I have never been the same since. I finally decided to get tested for cpn through the armin labs and it came up positive for c pneumonia at a 5. Anything above 3 is positive. I have had problems with my tonsils, tight neck, high heart rate, extreme fatigue, dizziness, low blood pressure and fainting. I have gotten antibiotics, but haven't started them yet because I wanted to get on a full dose of NAC first. But I can't go fast because I react so bad. Should I just go straight to the antibiotics that Stratton recommends? This infection is so hard.

Stung by a wasp 1 year ago. I had an anaphylactic reaction. I have never been the same since and we think it triggered  c pneumonia.

Start the antibiotics and leave the NAC for later.

That clarifies your condition much better.  You should be aware that there is some controversy about taking NAC in the absence of antibiotics: https://www.microbiologyresearch.org/docserver/fulltext/jmm/67/5/702_jmm000716.pdf?expires=1561997772&id=id&accname=guest&checksum=86267180F085609DD5E223216DCCD6BE

Based on this article, it is probably safer to start the antibiotics first.  Your other symptoms are quite typical of a Cpn infection which is consistent with your result from Armin Labs.  I recommend getting started with the antibiotics ASAP.  I am sure that others on this site would recommend the same.

Given the severe reaction from NAC, it is probably best to avoid it for a while.

Do you recommend the Stratton or wheldon protocol? My md doctor thought I might get too sick on the wheldon protocol, but i have actually read it's easier on the body. My md doctor knows nothing about CPN. Should i start the doxy or arythromycin first? Thank you for all your help.

Do you think you got the cpn from the pneumonia or from the wasp?  I got my case from pneumonia.

Thanks.

I think I have a severe case of cpn,in the brain which I got about 8 months ago (Oct. 2018).

I have a lot of issues with depression, balance, eyesight, ear and teeth problems.  Most important, I have brain shrinkage, and some strange symptoms of that. Does anyone share these issues?

I am guessing that I got it from the pneumonia. Then the wasp sting just triggered it from all the inflammation. It's all a guessing game though.

I looked up your symptoms online, and most of them are related to a severe allergy to the bee sting according to online information (for what it's worth). What did your doctor say? Who made the connection to cpn if you don't mind saying?

I did have a severe allergic reaction to the wasp, but I never got better. It has been a year since the sting. I went to a naturopath and she recommended me getting tested from the armin labs. Sure enough cpn was a high positive.

you were tested for other kinds of pathogens?

I have been tested for pretty much every test out there. The one that went to Germany I also got tested for lymes and other confections. Everything has been negative except the cpn.

Others on here are better able to provide a view regarding these two protocols.  I am in a country that forbids the use of antibiotics.  However, I was able to get some azithromycin from elsewhere, and only taking that at the moment.

There are some significant differences in the side effect profile and pharmacokinetics of doxycycline and azithromycin.  I could only get one antibiotic and chose Azi based on that data.
