Private messaging is now working. Pinky installed a new module and the messaging is easy. It is found in the left hand column, or for people using phones or mini tablets, you will have to scroll down below the forum.

I think the messages are just going to store in their threads, as they are, in a similar way to Messenger over at Facebook. So you can carry on chatting in an existing thread, or start a new one when you wish. I've just worked out you can start a message thread with several people too, which is a useful idea. I'm not sure how easy it will all be to look through old messages, when we've built up lots, but I think it's probably designed, as most things are these days, to be more instant and then we move on. I'm feeling really happy with the progress - well done to you and Pinky for all the hard work!

Congratulations!
It now looks like the message system works. you even get a notification at the top of the page telling you how many messages you have.

I hope everyone is happy with this, because it is far easier to get your head around than Kent's attempt.
