Posted by Jean UK but lost last week: CPNhelp was recommended to me many years ago, I had Pneumonia and Asthma as a child then experienced an abdominal injury in 2002 which made the lining of my gut thin in one particular place [was told I had Diverticulitis] then went to see a very special ME Dr in Manchester Dr AW who was targeted for trying to help people and made to close the practice down but he identified CPN in my live blood. This is in my brain now. I took the combined ABX for over 2 years but then had what felt like a heart attack and severe palpitations one night and then stopped. Whenever I try to take the ABX now I get severe diarrhoea. Dr Stratton has very kindly been in touch and recommended trying Dimethylglycine but to be honest nothing touches it like the ABX does so I realise I need to take better probiotics. Thank you so much for your contact. Im trying to hold down a job to hang onto my house and when I get in from work Im just completely drained.

Jean, it sounds to me as though you should definitely be taking more and better probiotics. Throughout the time I was taking abx there was never a day when I missed them, taken two hours apart to allow time for the abx to get through the stomach. A very good probiotic is saccharomyces boulardii, which is also very useful for general digestive problems like irritable bowel syndrome or dverticulitis. Wash this down with some live yoghurt or kefir and you should be well away.

Completed Stratton/Wheldon regime for aggressive secondary progressive MS in June 2007, after four years, three of which intermittent.   Still improving bit by bit and no relapses since finishing treatment.
