To chat or not?

We now have a chat facility, temporarily turned off, but it can either be turned back on or taken off if preferred. In settings you have the options of marking yourself off-line, busy or unavailable, so I didn't give an outright "no, take it away!!"

I have discovered that the new chatbot can be used as a kind of instant messaging. Private chats can be saved by you and looked at later. Let me know what you think and it can either be made active, or removed.

Sounds intriguing. Well worth a trial run. People won't know the site is up for a few days, what with all the ups and downs, so there probably won't be a lot of responses here right away.

As well as the ups and downs, it's bank holiday weekend here, so weather allowing, there won't be many people around.

If he can turn it on, we all ought to give it a trial run and see if it works, if it's private or not so much, if it's possible to save conversations, etc.
