Newby needs help! Need MD in New England

Hi you all,

I just joined your group.  I've been somewhere between tired and exhausted for almost 3 years.  Recently I got my holistic MD to test me for chronic infectionsi.  On Monday he told me that I had had all 5 that he tested for, including Cpni, but that I was not currently infected.  When I asked whether I might have Cpn even though the test was negative, he said yes and offered me a 3-week prescription for doxycycline renewable 3 times.  I was out of his office before I had a chance to ask him about using a CAPi or about the various protocolsi.

Now I don't know what to do.  He says if I feel better on the doxy, that will show I have some sort of bacterial infection.  He didn't say under what circumstance I should renew the prescription and take it for 9 weeks.  I'm worried that taking doxy by itself might not prove anything or might make things worse.

I mentioned to him that I tried taking NACi and felt pretty awful on it.  He didn't think that that was an indication of Cpn.  He said I could feel bad because NAC increases liver detox.  I didn't get how that would be true.

Does anybody have any suggestions?  Are there any doctors in New England who are experienced in treating Cpn?  Should I try the doxy and see if it helps?

Thanks so much!  I really want to feel better.
