New Patient in Atlanta

I'm new to this.  I recently started CAPi about 3 and a half months ago.  I found a pulmonary doctor in Atlanta that listened to me and is allowing the Wheldon CAP protocol.  He advised that while this is not main stream thinking, he is willing to let me try it, so I commend him for that.

I have not noticed any real notable improvement so far.  I think I feel better but this may be more psychological then physiological.  I am just starting the Flagyli part of the treatment and am anxious to see if any results.

The one thing I did notice is that the vitamin supplementsi protocol for CPN that are recommended makes my asthmai condition worst.  Just the 1000 mg of vitamin C and B complex makes my chest tight and harder to breathe.  I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this?  Is this worsening condition the result of toxin being released by CPN?

Hi, Myao - I don't know if

Hi, Myao - I don't know if the website is still up, but there was a website called AsthmaStory (Jim, didn't we have something here on the site about it?) about a man who recovered from severe asthma by doing a similar antibiotic protocol. I have a friend who is doing this protocol for his asthma, as well.

I'm speculating that what you're feeling is the abxi addressing your cpni infection in your lungs. We often talk about how you're going to feel worse on this protocol before you feel better. It doesn't mean you're getting worse; it just means you really feel it when the cpn is being killed. Cpn death causes inflammationi and inflammation causes most of our symptoms to resurface. People here walk a fine line between managing inflammation and trying not to 'feed' the cpn with steroids.

Sometimes it just helps to know what you're experiencing isn't all that unusual.

Hi Myao, Good to see you

Hi Myao,

Good to see you here.

How do you know for sure it's the vitamins making you worse?  Did you start both the supplementsi recommended HERE and CAPi at the same time or did you first start the supplements and then add CAP in a couple of months later as suggested?

As Mac says, if you feel worse, you might actually be getting more die off and having reactions to that.

This might help:  Reactions and Remedies

I have had mild asthmai & many allergies in the past.  I haven't found C or B's to be anything but helpful.

sounds like you are experiencing die off reactions!  welcome to the club & do what Reenie says about the moppers page!  This is very important, even more so than "feeling" this is working.  Staying ahead of the toxins & 2ndry porphyriai is a huge part of this protocol many have underestimated & paid a heavy price in so doing.

blessings for your journey

Hi Reenie,Thank you so much

Hi Reenie,

Thank you so much for the reply.  I actually found other websites before I found the CPNi Help page that recommended vitaminsi such as C and B.  I tried those and started experiencing more symptoms such as tightening of the chest, difficulty in breathing, even my blood pressure started to increase, etc.  So I stopped it.

A couple of months later, after I read the CPN Help page and finding a doctor that allowed me the CAPi, I started the CAP.  About a couple of weeks later, I found the supplement recommendations and implemented that.  I started experiencing the same effects again.  I thought it was the die off effect but wasn't sure.

I'll continue to manage the reactions.  I guess the important thing is to push the envelop and manage it.

Thank you again.

MacKintosh, Thank you for

MacKintosh,

Thank you for the reply.  I just read the AsthmaStory and he used Dr. Hahn's protocol which was just Azithromycin (1000mg one time a week) for 12 weeks.  For the last 4 months I've been following the Weldon protocol (building up to Doxycyclin-200 mg/day, Azithromycin- 250 mg 3 times M/W/F a week and now pulsing Flagyli).  Do you know which protocol is more appropriate for chronic asthma?  Did I do a mistake here?

Myao, I'd vote for the

Myao, I'd vote for the Wheldon protocol. If asthmai is caused by cpni, I doubt an azithromycin only protocol would eradicate it. All that does is drive the bacteria into another form, not kill it. Ultimately, you get to fight the same miserable battle all over again. Wheldon's protocol will address the cpn for sure (and by your reactions, it sounds like you have cpn) and, if azith 'only' can be effective against asthma, then you've killed more than one bird with this stone. Win-win.

Thanks again.  From all

Thanks again.  From all the comments, I think I will stick it out with Weldon's protocol.  This has been very helpful.

MacKintosh,

Better late than never- I was just going over some of these old emails and something caught my eye here.  You mentioned "...trying not to feed the cpni with steroids".  Do steroid inhallers "feed" cpn?
