New & Intro

I've been reading the site for several days after a medical professional suggested the possibility of Lyme and other infectionsi. I have had several problems for years, but more severely in the past 5 years. Here are some:

eye muscle dysfunction

optic nerve hydrops or neuritis with gray spots in one eye

persistent eyelid myokymia

nystagmus

dizziness

numbness in hands, feet, head, neck, sacrum

trouble swallowing

sensation of blocked circulation in neck, sometimes severe

intermittent gait changes

I had pneumonia multiple times as a child, one time with antibiotic treatment dc'ed due to erythromycin hepatitis. Have had persistent mononucleosis in past, current persistent candida and herpes type II. Lots of tick bites, animal scratches and exposure to odd animals.

I'm not sure how much testing to embark on, for financial reasons, but I am waiting to see a local LLMD to discuss CAPi.

No MS diagnosis - supposedly MRI is clear - but if I had a doc who diagnosed functionally it would be true.

So far I have been slowly ramping up supplementsi, mostly from this site. NaCi seems to have made me very sore in the hips and back - does that count as NaC flu?

I understand the basics of the supplementsi, reactions, and that there are multiple CAPs. I work part time and need to continue, but would very much like to have my eyes working and more stamina. Hoping LLMD will consider trial CAP.

Welcome hikingshoes

The shortest answer to the NACi question is yes.  Reading your introduction/blog this morning was like reliving much of my own history.  My glasses now have twenty-six prisms and my gait and swallowing were getting worse at an ever-increasing rate, reaching the point that my husband had to do the Heimlich on me twice and I was on a walker.  I had no testing done.  It was obvious that something was very wrong.  I had never heard of all this "stuff" before, and upon getting a diagnosis of MS, I began Avonex.   Having grown up in a family of doctors for generations, I never questioned their competency.

Well, within a week, that began to change.  My sister found this website, and the rest of my story, to now, is history.  Based on what I have learned - both by reading and doing - you should begin now.  You may be one of the fortunate few to cut this horror short before it becomes so deeply embedded that it will take years to root it out.

Sorry to sound alarmist, but that is how I feel.

3/9 Symptoms returning. Began 5 abxi protocol 5/9 Rifampin 600, Amox 1000, Doxyi 200, MWF Azith 250, flagyli 1000 daily. Began Sept 04 PPMSi EDSSi 6.7 Now good days EDSS 1 Mind, like parachute, work only when open. Charlie Chan  In for the duration.

Thank you veru much, Rica. It doesn't sound alarmist; it sounds pretty practical.

I was sore after having gotten to 1200 mg NaCi in a day, but feeling okay, so I went up to 1800 yesterday. Now am at the "uh-oh this is real" stage, with an old injury site very sore, watery eyes, sore throat, and stupefaction that I associate with acute infectionsi. I am about to search topics on how to survive this stuff. From what I've read this is quite minor compared to abxi reactions.

Hi, there, Hikingshoes -    The most telling sign for you is the activity in an old injury site.  You've stirred up the little pests and there's inflammationi in that old injury now, probably because a colony of cpni landed there when it was delivered by cpn-infected white blood cells that were trying to help the injury heal.  At least, it's validation for you.  Prepare for abxi to address that spot, as well, but don't panic about abxi reactions.  I had very few, yet I improved dramatically. Each of us is different, so don't let apprehension take over.

Thanks MacKintosh. I don't know whether to say Eww - Gross! or Wow - Cool!

By chance I had a CST appt scheduled, so I asked her to look at the old injury area and she said one kidney was adhered to the back wall and she worked to free it. So I was able to take advantage of the reactivation. Rib and back soreness is tolerable. I don't care so much for the eye and brain symptoms Smile that are activated and will likely be again, but am grateful for all this information and possibilities here.
