Nanoviricides

Thanks to the MicrobWiki site I found some very interesting information about a company that is creating a novel type of anti-viral based on nano technology.

Here is the company website:

And here is some recent news about their anti-herpes treatment.

Looks like there might be hope for those of us with viral co-infections.

Thanks Louise, from what I've read, they can be made for a wide variety of organisms. I wonder if they can make one for Cpn??

Interesting, since CPn was once thought to be a virus perhaps there is enough similarity.   Still wonder how long something like this will take to be available in the US.   Seems that this approach may be less toxic than the anti-virals that are currently available.

I found an article that I think says that the Cpn that causes us diseases is itself infected with a bacteriophage. No wonder that some researchers once thought Cpn was a virus, and others couldn't find that ordinary Cpn is much of a problem. I am still hoping for a good bacteriophage to come along, but maybe a nanoviricide would work. http://jcm.asm.org/cgi/content/full/40/11/4010?view=full&pmid=12409367

minocycline, azithromycine, metronidazole 2007-2009, chelation for lead poisoning, muscle pain, insomnia, interstitial cystitis (almost well), sinus, dry eyes, stiff neck, veins, hypothyroid, TMJ, hip joints (no longer hurt)

Here's some recent news about research by Nanoviricides. If I had the funds, I would probably buy stock in this company. http://www.businesswire.com/portal/site/google/?ndmViewId=news_view&newsId=20090921005495&newsLang=en
