MS site

Happy 'beginning of summer' everyone!  I was just over on ThisIsMS and realized most of us post here exclusively now, which is great for us , but not so helpful for scared newbies over there.

If you can find time on this holiday weekend, maybe a few people could check out ThisIsMS and respond to some of the posts over there?  A broader range of responses might be helpful for those considering abxi, or just asking questions about treatment.

Thanks so much!  Enjoy your holiday and thank a serviceman if you encounter one...

Ah, it must be Veterans' Day: our equivalent is on November 11th, Armistice Day, but no public holiday.

It would be very good if a  few people could post on ThisisMS: there only seems to be me now, sometimes Mack and Loriyas; Rica but she can’t get her password to work.  This can make it seem  like the treatment doesn’t really work and I am some kind of mad thing........................... Sarah

Completed Stratton/Wheldon regime for aggressive secondary progressive MSi in June 2007, after four years, three of which intermittent.   Still improving bit by bit and no relapses since finishing treatment.

From Wikipedia, "Memorial Day is a day of remembering the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces."  Something I didn't know is that it originates to before the American Civil War.  It actually started with 'picnics' of a sort, in cemeteries, honoring the dead.

And Veterans Day, is exactly as you say, Sarah..." Veterans Day, formerly Armistice Day, is an annual United States holiday honoring armed service veterans. It is a federal holiday that is observed on November 11. It coincides with other holidays such as Armistice Day or Remembrance Day, which are celebrated in other parts of the world and also mark the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I. (Major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 with the German signing of the Armistice"

Now, just to stay legit, and get back on topic, please let's go visit ThisIsMS under the 'antibioticsi' topic. Cool

Two things I got wrong!   I presume that if Memorial Day originates from before the Civil War, it has to do with when you were fighting us.............. Sarah

When I am on TiMS site and people ask anything about abxi protocol I just refer the to this site for more info. Seems redundant to explain things there that they could find here more thoroughly. I will try to send more people here for more complete information.

Started Vanderbilt protocol 1/9/08  Rifampin twice a day, azithromycin MWF, Tindamax for 7 days out of a month at 250 mg three times a day,  b12 injection monthly NACi daily, DHA, calcium pyruvate, prilosec, low dose naltrexone 4.5 mg

Lori, The problem is, a lot of them comment that there that this (cpni) site is too large and confusing for them.  I think, even though it ultimately does end up being redundant, it's good to anchor the info there permanently for those who come along in the future.  Initially, they'll have more info accessible to them on ThisIsMS, plus we can refer them here, too.

As an aside, that seems to be the site everyone is referred to, when they're newly diagnosed.  I know it was the second one recommended to me.  Funny, but it was a TEENY TINY little blurb in their 'news' section in 2005 that made me search for 'antibioticsi, MS' and that's how I found Sarah and David.  I think things that are meant to happen find a way to happen, no matter how convoluted the path. ;-)

But, Mac, I don't think it is necessarily a bad thing for people to think this site is too large or confusing. As we all know, a person has to be really serious and committed to this treatment. And if someone has to really spend a lot of tme researching and completely understanding this protocol before making the commitment to it I think that is a good thing. Too many people want a "quick fix". And as we all know, this treatment is anything but that!

I'm right there with you; I truly believe I'd be dead or useless by now, if not for this treatment.

To Lori's last post. Ditto.

M.S., Dxi 1/2006, CAPi 6/2010. Currently: 200 mg Doxyi, 1 g Amoxi, 250 mg Azithro (MWF), 1 g Tinii (5 d pulse), 2400 mg NACi, 3.5 mg LDNi, 10 g Vit D, 800 mg Vit E, 1 g Vit C, 400 mg ALA, 800 mg ALC, 1 g EPO, 30,000 mcg B-12

My point was simply to ask people to help maintain a presence on ThisIsMS, so people over there understand that antibiotic therapy is not the realm of one or two 'fringe' - or nutcase - MSers.

For those who are inclined to do so, thanks.  I still remember the days when I was so brainfogged and terrified, I couldn't even figure out how to log into TIMS, much less grasp the details of the protocol.

ThisIsMS is where many of us first found our treatment answers.  For those who aren't inclined, please just disregard my request.

macintosh I agree that this site is quite confusing. I've been lucky to have LadyBug assist me sometimes. My main complaint is that finding the current protocol is very difficult. Even my GP got it wrong.

Now LadyBug tells me that Flagyli need not to be included, the latest advice from her American doctor.

I'm fortunate that I started this protocol having been on marshall protocol for 5 years beforehand and had quite a bit of understanding.

I've been off all abxi since March 23 when I developed a very painful mouth, cheeks, tongue and gums. That is eventually subsiding very slowly but I'm managing without any abxi - whoopee - so good so far. I have spent since June 2005 up until March 2012 on abx and maybe they have actually worked. Fingers crossed.

I'm nearly 66 and I think I feel like a 'normal' 66 year old would feel (Bit hard after 30 years to have a baseline to compareA) I am taking low dose naltrexone 1.5mg daily and it really helps my body pain.

So keep on keeping on everyone........

CFSi 30 years/FM 12 years/ CRPS 3 years/.  Previously MPi 5 years. Off everything since 05/04/2012.

Back on low dose naltrexone 1.5mg daily

.

Just have to say that i understand Lori's sentiment but this is exactly where a lot are coming from and I certainly did, (mac)"...I still remember the days when I was so brainfogged and terrified, I couldn't even figure out how to log into TIMS, much less grasp the details of the protocol."

Sarah answering questions in understandable terms on TIMS I could cope with and consider, this website without that first without that would have been way too much and too intimidating. Slow immersion is kindest for some, lol

M.S/CFSi '00, CAPi 02/12. Doxyi, Azith, Metroi, Naprox, NACi + every supp under the sun + Myhill methyl'
