There will be a new kid on the block soon. I asked my usual question- "Do you have any friends, relatives, or enemies with MS"? The answer was affirmative. He should be here shortly under the name "Skymaster" or "Skyman". As soon as he posts with the "submit" button we can communicate with him!
On to the serious matters. My B-12 was actually high at my visit to my PCP Wed. He suggested cutting my dosage down from the 10000 mcg. to 5000 I had increased it recently and it must have worked really well. Dr. Stratton said in my semi-annual email that I seem to have the cpn under control and "in the near future" could stop Rifampin. I never thought I would hear such a thing. Problem was, how was I to know when the near future arrived? "When I no longer have reaction to the drugs." Well, I certainly have LESS than I used to so I'm partway there. He suggested 1 to 3 years more on a regimen to be certain.
For Marie, who wants to know about concrete results, I must make a list: more feeling on my right rib cage returning- +- 30% after being almost totally nunb for 10 years, increase on ellip. by 30% in the last 10 days or so without realizing it, and most amazing of all- I CAN RUN IN PLACE! At first, two weeks ago, it was 6 steps with each foot now up to 30 and could have been longer but I have other things to do.
Also for Marie, who just did her 1st Flagyl. I have been watching much more closely my body's recovery from my recent 17th pulse. Last Sat am was my last (15th) dose of 375mg. and I am on Fri. am still clearing mentally and physically from it. During Flagy l had a very bad limp that is finally almost back to my recent norm of a slight but definite limp except in the first few hours of the morning when I am at my best. So, yes, it takes many days to recover from this assault, not the 4 or 5 I blithly gave it.
My PCP said you have to have an MRI! (Thanks, Barbara) Sat., Jan. 21, 8 am is the day. I will pick up my films at my neuros office on Wed. before.
Never untill the last few years have I had trouble sleeping. I keep hearing melatonin and plan on buying some today.
