Jane, I have looked up the company and they seem fine.  The headquarters started out in West Virginia in 1966 or so.

What occurs to me, is that you are already taking doxycycline, so maybe you don't have a uti, or at least not one that you treat with doxycycline................................Sarah

Completed Stratton/Wheldon regime for aggressive secondary progressive MS in June 2007, after four years, three of which intermittent.   Still improving bit by bit and no relapses since finishing treatment.

Sarah! Thank you! It really is So good to know the tablets should be fine!

i'm not sure about the uti either! I rarely get cystitis burn, in fact, I rarely get cystitis! I wonder if it's menopause?  I feel nauseous and tired, but that's nothing now i know the tablets should be fine! I'll feel ok soon!

Oh Jane, how long ago did you finish your last pulse?  Maybe that is why you are feeling nausous and tired!....................Sarah

Hey ...

Unusual, if you already taking 200 mg of doxycycline each day that you have a UTI. To those people that are prone to frequent UTIs, I always urge them to take Doxy. An alternative to antibiotics is to take D-Mannose. It is a bit expensive but it works if you take sufficient quantity.

There are various brands available on Amazon and elsewhere. Good luck.

Hi Sarah, I finished the pulse a week ago. I guess I should consider that, I'm mostly fed up about the fatigue, but my paresthesia is niggling a lot, like a threatening presence in the background. It usually signals there's something wrong!

SG, I've never heard of that supplement! Obviously I take daily Doxy, so I'll get some D-Mannose! Thanks for the tip!

Hi Jane!

Very briefly and simply, D'Mannose is just a sugar; just like glucose, fructose or table sugar: sucrose. In order to metabolise these sugars after entering our bloodstream, our body is set up with enzymes and so forth able to utilise these sugars. In the case of D'Mannose, our bodies are about 95% inefficient at doing this. Therefore, our bodies dump this stuff out of the bloodstream and into the bladder via the kidneys. I don't really know why but germs such as E-Coli do not coexist very well in the presents of D'Mannose. If E-Coli is unfortunate enough to find itself swimming in a bladder high in D'Mannose, it dies and gets flushed out when the bladder is emptied. That is as I understand it anyway.

This method is often favoured by naturopaths because there are no pharmaceutical drugs involved, just this relatively inert sugar.

Hi Jane,

I'd just like to endorse Glens recommendation of D-Mannose.
