Methylation

I'd like to have an easy to locate reference for information and thoughts on the application on ways to support methylation for myself and those who also experience unrelenting fatigue both prior to and well into the treatment for persistent intracellular bacterial infectons. Some folks are not affected in this way of course and this thread, thank God,  may not be useful or of interest for you.  However energy support is a primary focus for me with CFS and for others here as well. Some of us have had success with the agents that absorb porphorins and fatty endotoxin substances and this has al

A six month note, after using the Simple Methylation supplements available over the counter.  I have had so far a good exprience and continue these daily.  I added these as part of my year of expanding my adjunct supplements beyond the CAPsupplement list.  Louise

That's very interesting, Louise. Being "new" to this Forum, I had missed your original post.

I know how much fatigue (and motor performance, overall) is affected by mood: if I just feel down, nervous or angry my performances are instantly zeroed....

Are you saying that you noticed improvement while taking SAM-e? I never tried it, but I have to admit that I never found a "chemical" way (out of the many I tested) to reliably improve my mood: maybe I should give it a try....

Mr.G, Yes, and I just took my morning dose just now, I am taking the lowest suggested dose.  During the first month or so I worked it up two steps and actually felt a bit anxious and realized that I did not need that level so I backed it down again.    I had heard of Sam-e years ago in the early 90's.  It was very expensive then, and I did not have a need of it back then either and like most "new" supplements I didn't really give it a thought again.  That is until I began reading about methylation prompted by discussions here.

Raven, I believe had a detailed blood evaluation and was found to have deficencies on testing.  Some others have been given the hint about methylation support from their healthcare providers.  I have had several share information over time and there are links here and there in posts, if you can find them on search, that could be helpful in sorting out wether or not you might consider it for yourself.  But I have lost most of my bookmarks in the update last summer so I cannot be as helpful to you in locating them.  Perhaps some others here will add some if they have then easily available.

What had me initiate it was a bit of chance.  I was ordering the calcium pyruvate from a website that was suggested by one of the regular users here, because that business had it available in a capsule and the tablets sat heavy on my stomach.  I was browsing what else the offered and there it was and reasonably prices too. (wholehealth.com) They also have the high density form of ChitosanHD.  They provide a bit of educational writeups about the supplements that the offer and I read about Sam-e again and decided that since I was there for energy support that this might also be an addition to support me.  What I found helpful about the writeup is that they talked about the need to get enough vitaminB supplementation, which is part of the methylation protocol really, and they even supply the vitB supplement free of charge so that you will be more inclined to comply with their warning not to take it without added vitB.

I encourage you to take some time and read up on the methylation issue and see if you think you may benefit from it.  If the may possibly help you then I am glad that I pulled it up while back searching yesterday.

I sure would like to hear from you or anyone else that may give it a try or is on the Simple Methylation Protocol and their experience.    Louise
