marshall protocol and metronidazole

I have recently noticed that there is a Marshall protocol that is supposed to cure Cpn and suggest to avoid vitamin D (which we assume is very useful). Has anybody gone deeper into the subject? Also I have noticed that there are warnings about the potential carcinogen features of metronidazole. Isn't that scaring? Here again what are your comments? For over one year on treatment after Cpn pneumonia. Taking 500mg Zitro every second day, some Flagyl pulses and Doxi pulses + Nac and supplements.

nino- there has been ample discussion here on the benefits of D and some as well on the Marshall protocol. Search to find those discussions as to repeat them unnecessary.

I too have thought about the carcinogenic effects reported for flagyl. I would note that this is one benefit of pulsing as your exposure is reduced. Additionally, such effects are from extremely high doses for long periods of time. Add to this the increased risk of a number of cancers associated with Cpn. "You pay's your money and you takes your chances."

Interestingly, Dr. Stratton takes it regularly as a preventative given his high risk of exposure to Cpn in hospital and lab, and is not at all concerned about cancer risk.

CAP for Chlamydia pneumonia since 11/04. 25yrs CFS & FMS- Currently: 200 Doxycycline, 500mg MWF Azithromycin, Tini pulses.

CAP for Cpn 11/04. Dx: 25+yrs CFS & FMS. Currently: 250 aithromycin mwf, doxycycline 100mg BID, restarted Tini pulses; Vit D2000 units, T4 & T3, 6mg Iodoral

Its a question of assessing the risks and deciding which way you want to go.   There are going to be some small risks in anything you do, but what are the risks attached to not taking charge of your recovery?

Here is a link to a previous discussion about the MP.

Nino, I am still concerned at your signature line. Pulsing doxy is not wise. There is reason to take doxy and azithromycin at the same time, not sequentially. You seriously risk developing a resistant strain of cpn.
