Lyme Doctor tested me for Cpn and I had a positive result

I was in treatment for Lyme Disease after a tick bite two years ago. During that time I tested very positive for Lyme through IGENEX labs.

A few weeks ago I had another tick attached to my belly and engorged.  Within a few days I became symptomatic again.  Back on Doxyi and back to my Lyme doctor.  This time I saved the tick and sent it to IGENEX for testing.  Well, the tick was negative for Lyme and the Lyme and Bart blood tests that my doctor ran were also negative but I came back with IgGi positive for Cpni.   This is the first I have ever heard of Cpn so I am very concerned.

I did have double pneumonia and was hospitalized for 13 days and then home on oxygen for a few weeks back in 2004.  Is this test result just showing that previous infection or am I still infected with Cpn and my current symptoms are actually Cpn instead of Lyme this time?

Please help!

What were your test result numbers?

I haven't gotten the lab copy or seen my doctor yet.  He has an online patient portal where you can view test results so that is how I saw what I did.

THis is all it shows ... not even the values!  *sigh*

I don't know why the values weren't shown on the only positive result I got from all the blood test he ran.  Everything else (that was negative) showed the ranges!

Can someone PLEASE just tell me if only having positive for IgGi is fairly certain that I'm not still infected ... or not????

THANKS!!!!

Kim

I will share my experience.  My IgG and IgAi results were as high as the lab measured (IgG >=1:1024, IgA >=1:256).   With treatment the IgA dropped to as low as the lab measured <1:16.   The IgG was 1:512 when we stopped antibioticsi.   We will repeat the tests in late July.

It seems I'm battling both chronic bacterial and chronic viral pathogens.

Good luck,
