Ithing and partial CAP
My post is 2 parts. I have been on Doxyi 200mg for 45 days as well as NACi for about 10 months. I am working with one of the Chronic Fatigue clinics.
1. In the last week to 2 weeks I have developed terrible itching. It is so bad that at night i dose myself with benadryl to fall asleep. My back is also very tense and that causes back pain and spasms of the muscles along my spine. I don't know if itching skin is from the doxy or just the winter setting on. I have had itching skin in the fall before but this seems more unpleasant. I have no rash.
2. My doc is only doing doxy and no macrolide with metronizidiol pulses. How hard should I push him to prescribe azith? I think I know the answer to this last one from all of my reading on this site but I wanted to hear it from you all as well.
Thank you so much for your time.

I've had itching attacks recently which I believe to be reactions to die-off. Basically, an increase in toxins leaving the pores, causing me to itch.
If the itching is only hitting you when you're in bed, it could be a dust mite allergy.
M.S., Dxi 1/2006, CAPi 6/2010. Currently: 200 mg Doxyi, 1 g Amoxi, 250 mg Azithro (MWF), 1 g Tinii (5 d pulse), 2400 mg NACi, 3.5 mg LDNi, 10 g Vit D, 800 mg Vit E, 1 g Vit C, 400 mg ALA, 800 mg ALC, 1 g EPO, 30,000 mcg B-12
Hi effiesue,
There are several things you can do that will relieve the itching and (presumably) help erradicate C. Pneumonia from your skin. Taking a bath with Epsom Salt is helpful. Also using a "dandruff" shampoo with either salicyclic acid or coal tar (indole) works. Apply the shampoo to the effected area(s) and wait a minute or two and wash off. You can cover your whole body in the shower and then turn on the shower and wash it off pretty easily. Also using creams with menthol and methyl salicylate (BenGay, Icy Hot) works pretty amazingly although the menthol smell is pretty overwhelming and they "burn" a bit.
IMOi Epsom Salt is the least powerful of these and probably a good place to start as any of these, while helping the itching, will cause some die off effects. The effects can be pretty significant initially as your skin is the largest organ in your body. The next more powerful ones are the salicylic acid shampoos, followed by coal tar shampoos and finally the menthol and methyl salicylate creams.
As you noted Benadryl helps symptomatically but does not seem to ever resolve the underlying problem and can make you pretty sleepy so it is not good for day time use.

Thank you both for your assistance. I am pretty sure that I am not allergiv to my sheets because this is really intense and fairly new. The itching starts before I even get into bed. Tonight is particularly bad. I thougt that it was getting better but the last three days I have been very symptomatic with fatigue, swollen glands and chills. Maybe the itching I am experiencing tonight is from herxing earlier this week. I haven't gotten BenGay yet but I think I will. I have be doing the Epsom salts baths. Thank you again for your suggestions.
