In addition to the vitamins + minerals + supplements, one thing I take every week that is very soothing and healing are herbal infusions. Two of my favorites --Chickweed (common name)/Stellaria media (latin name) https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/?term=chickweed+intracellular+infections --Stinging Nettles (common name)/Urtica dioica (latin name) Why do I take these if I am taking all the antibiotics + many supplements? Because C. pneumoniae is a sneaky b----! It has many ways of hiding itself even under the onslaught of many different antibiotics. I feel you can't have too many weapons against it. So, the Chickweed infusion has had a profound healing effect on my gut---softening and clearing away a very tough, thick biofilm that I believe hides persister cells of C. pneumoniae (among other latent infectious agents). Healing my gut has and is a very high priority in this whole ugly mess: our gut is our second brain..... The Nettles is a fantastic healing herb.... just all-around "filling in" vitamins and minerals that I can't take more pills for. So, for my infusions: I take a clean, quart glass jar with two-part lid (a canning jar), and put one heaping cup of Chickweed or Nettles in the jar. I fill the jar with Boiling Water (not just hot). I stir the herb to settle and soak, and then add more water to top off the jar. I then let it sit for a MINIMUM of 4-hours, but usually I make this before bed and let it sit overnight. I then use a strainer over a bowel, and pour off the infusion. I put the liquid in a glass jug and place in the fridge. I drink it all in one day... the infusions are not good to drink after a day or two. You can drink these infusions warm or cold, and some people add salt.... you can add a bit of peppermint tea to an infusion if you don't like the taste. I quite like the taste of both Chickweed and Nettles infusions. I drink them cold, and they are very refreshing on a very hot day (I live in the desert). Finally, I put the used, strained herbs in my compost pile. For more information on herbs and infusions: Google: "Susun Weed + infusions + Chickweed or Nettles". Susun (yes, spelled with two "u"s) is a simpler herbalist... working with only one herb at a time. I quite like her simple, gentle approach to working with herbs. I buy my dry herbs from these companies: Frontier Herbs, San Francisco Herb Company, Starwest Botannicals (all found on their own sites and Amazon). I also take these herbs in extract or tincture formulas when I can't get around to making the infusions. I use a company called Herb Pharm (found on Amazon). They have many tinctures in both alcohol and glycerin. These are expensive, but a little goes a long way. One herb I am going to add to my repertoire of infusions is Linden Flower.... I have never tried this one, but Susun Weed writes that it is great for inflammation which I think most people have with C. pneumoniae.
