I am just coming back from my dental hygienist because I really had to remove this thick black deposit on my teeth that started to appear several months ago (and after more than 6 months on my CPn Abx protocol). The hygienist was quite surprised by such a strong deposit, and she said the only cause she could think about is the Abx. Apparently some of them can cause such issues on teeth. I am taking Doxy (or Tetra) + Azithro + NAC on a daily basis, and Amoxi + Metro when pulsing. Anybody here already experienced the same issue on CAP? Cheers, Frédéric.

Actually, it is caused by doxycycline, but I managed to keep it in check by using an electric toothbrush twice a day.

I see lots of studies showing that taking vitamin C with Tetracycline antibiotics stops this staining from happening. Studies also seem to indicate that Vitamin C enhances antibiotics.

tgferg67, I did find that more than 2000mg of vitamin c and an electric toothbrush keeps your teeth a natural white, if not a gleaming, artificial white often preferred now.

I can believe tat vitamin c enhances  the effect of the antibiotics, but can you post any of these studies?

Well, one of the first things I must do when Pinky gets back from her wedding is to get the research page working and add these, plus other things accumulated. Thank you.
