Hi all, Maybe someone can help here. I have an elderly friend who suffers a lot with pain from RA. His family would like to take him off a few of the pain killers and replace them with cannabis oil ... their worries are would this oil interfere with his current meds his on? Nobody in this country can or will answer it for them so I put it over to ye.... His meds are as follows meds are tradol Sr 100mg two to four a day. Nuprin 75mg one a day. Tamsulosin 400mg a day. Arcoxia 60mg a day. Perindopril blood pressure 5mg a day. Amitriptyline 25mg at night. Your feedback would be really helpful and grateful Thanks D

My goodness Darren, are the painkillers in addition to this list? I doubt if you will even a doctor in this country either to say much since there is no published research yet.  However, from my totally unmedical view, I would look at his painkillers,  codeine based stuff especially and think about what they are doing to him.

If your relative is sound in mind, if not in body, ask him if he would like to try some cannabis oil in place of some of the painkillers.  If it doesn't help the pain at all, change back.  You won't need to try it for weeks before you know if it makes the pain easier.

Completed Stratton/Wheldon regime for aggressive secondary progressive MS in June 2007, after four years, three of which intermittent.   Still improving bit by bit and no relapses since finishing treatment.
