I’m soon going to buy the herbs from Bristol botanicals. When I do, I’ll need some advice on dosage I reckon
Diagnosed RRMS 1999. No DMDs or other meds. Have done TMJ correction, Candida protocol, CCSVI venoplasty procedure.
Bristol Botanicals is a first class place to buy from!
Completed Stratton/Wheldon regime for aggressive secondary progressive MS in June 2007, after four years, three of which intermittent. Still improving bit by bit and no relapses since finishing treatment.

thanks for the information. Do you have own experiences with BB or why do you recommend them?

Hi Markus, my experience is from two parts: supplements, especially amino acids, and purchasing viable seed, for gardening.

Hi I’m wondering how long I could be on them for and if I can afford them!

I’d like to hear how long people have done the herbs for.
If I buy the tinctures from a herbalist it’ll cost me £350 month. Or I could make my own which would be cheaper. Just trying to get a feel for budget!

350 £ seems quite expensive (how much is it in Euros?). Many herbs can be taken as powder as well (much cheaper) or you can make your own tinctures, what you already suggested. For the Bidens pilosa tincture it is important that it is made from fresh leafs, so you have to buy this one as a tincture, unless you get some fresh plants to harvest (I think impossible in winter). Be sure to ask that the tincture is made from fresh leafs because often they use dried leafs/root which is fine for many (most) herbs, but not for this one.
I would stick to Buhners Cpn protocol from his Lyme Book 2nd edition. It seems to work well for me, I had to stop ABx (Azi/Doxy/Rifa) because my gut got upset.

Thanks for getting back to me... I’m looking at buying dried herbs from Bristol botanicals but it looks like bidens is unavailable as dried herbs or powders so I’m looking for an alternative supplier for that. When using powders don’t you need to use a percolation method. Have you made the herbs yourself? I too stopped the ABX because of tummy issues and I just need to ensure my gut is in good health before beginning the herbs because if it’s not, I’ll be even more poorly ! I’m not going to panic about starting these herbs because I’ve had MS for more than 20 years and another few months isn’t going to make any difference 😕

As I already mentioned, you need to take Bidens as fresh leaf tincture, powder would be quite useless. Maybe try this one: https://napiers.net/bidens-pilosa-tincture.html
You can take the other herbs as powder directly dissolved in water/juice or use them to make your own tincture. Percolation method is fine but you can also store the herb-water-alcohol mixture two weeks in a dark glass and shake it once a day. This would be fine, too, if you don't have the equipment for the percolation method. However, the percolation method would produce stronger tincures, or not. I don't know, I have used both.

Looks like the bidens tincture from Bristol botanicals is made from dried leaves so it’s a good job you mentioned that! This might explain why Napier’s is a little more expensive 😕

Tufty, as I said before, if you want to get better, you have to jump in and start something. Be brave: you have the abx and know what herbs to get. Do something!

Tufty, you have got to be brave and jump in one way or the other. Have you stopped abx completely?

I stopped the abx weeks ago and decided to do the herbs instead. My body’s not ready yet though

Napiers are a good source of Buhner herbs too. They have herbalists who can be consulted if help is needed. https://napiers.net/buhner-lyme-protocol-uk.html

I followed the Buhner protocol for Cpn for a couple of years and I think my Cpn is largely gone. I based this on my lack of post-exertion malaise and my improvement overall. I know I'm still dealing with some other stealth infections. I believe mycoplasma might be the main one and I'm following his protocol for that one now. I still have too much brain fog and my stamina isn't great. Both get severely worse quickly if I don't eat often enough and stay well-hydrated.
I worked with Michael at Dr Powell's office for about 2.5 years then stopped and started to slide back. That's when I found Buhner's protocol. I've made more progress with the herbs in three years than I did on the antibiotics. I attribute that largely to changing the body with the herbs and making it less hospitable to the infections. I also know that the long-term antibiotics exacerbated my candida problems.
Started CAP for Cpn on 11/14/10 - Per my doctor, paused Abx 5/18/13 - NAC, B-complex, Vit D3 (50,000/week), Niacin (100 mg/BID). Started Buhner protocal (2nd edition) on 8/30/16. Currently using a blend of Buhner's Cpn and Mycoplasma protocols
