Saw a GP today

Hi!Went to see a GP today (last time I saw one was last January).I have a lump under my arm, which it seems is an infection / sebaceous cyst. She was a little startled when I told her that I was already on antibiotics ... several in fact. She asked "How can we be expected to treat you safely when we don't know what you're on?" I pointed out that I did ask them to treat me (with abx) for MS ...

Mack, to answer your queery as to whether I made new friends amongst the medical folks ...I suppose that I have always been very fond and admiring of their attitudes. It is very easy for patients to develop a crush on their medical practicioner. I heard of a lady that has a fluffy name for her neurologist (you know who you are!) lol.Durring my "consultation" with this GP ... whilst still speaking (mid-sentence), the whirl & buzz of the printer staunched my words: here was the scrip being printed out. The printer was as interested in what I was going to say as thia doctor was.Yes, for me this was not just a mere crush on this lady doctor ... I think it was true love.In terms of what you, me or anyone else thinks on this site, it will make no difference: their motto is "God calls me God!" My success or failure to fight off the predicted onslaught of Prmary Progressive MS will make no difference to her pay or promotion prospects. This lady doctor's speciality is diabetes and that was the only subject she raised (I am diabetic). I had to remind her that I have MS. I felt like pointing out that diabetes is but a mere glitch on life's path ... where as MS is a wild and vicious illness that knows no boundrys. Good job I left without saying that otherwise I would have added in "You stupid bint!"Anyway, I didn't ask her if she was interested in the theory that c. pneumoniae causes MS and she did not enquire about any success or not that I might be having with my self-medication.Yes, I know what you're thinking ... I should have gone into the diplomatic core.G

Hmm,Bint is an arabic word as is bin. Bint means daughter or daughter of; it is the feminine of Bin ... which means son or son of ... as in "bin laden".Durring the 1940s & 1950s there were there were lots of British troops in the Middles East. Durring this time they adopted and brought back the word. Different parts of Britain see the word differently but it was never meant to be outright offensive (which some now see it as). It was once use in the 1979 Monty Python's Life of Brian (You skinny bint!).I love the word: crisp, simple and to-the-point! Those gentlemen of a more refined and romantic bent may well approach a lady using the words "Oi! Get 'ere bint!" A great chat-up line in a place like Port Talbot (where I had lunch today).Yes, had I have gone ahead and used that word yesterday, I think that the doctor would have misinterpreted it and I would have been struck off and would be looking to register with another doctor.Short question and a rather long explanation ... any clearer for you?G

Shortly after going on abxi,
Shortly after going on abx, I developed seriously painful cysts on the 'back' side of each ear, at separate times. I could barely touch the area for about a week at a time. It was a little scary, but so many weird things had happened just before I started the CAP, I guess I just ignored it. About a year into the protocol, the left ear tried to make another one. I could feel the dull ache in the same spot, but it never developed, then it totally subsided and hasn't come back at all. Maybe yours would have gone away spontaneously, too, but - really - what's one more antibiotic when you're already taking a small handful each day, anyway?
Hopefully, this will hasten the cyst's demise. Did you make any new friends amongst the medical folks there? Maybe when you improve they'll be a little more inclined to listen to the cpn theory.
