Thank you so much for your speedy reply Rica. I'll give the charcoal a go.I don't know what I would do without people like you helping others with your advice. I'd like to think I wouldn't throw in the towel, but at times like these I'm not so sure.
RRMS diagnosed 1996. Many years of weird symptoms before this. Started CAP around 6/11? Mino 200mg daily, Roxy 300mg daily, Tini pulses started 11/11 (very tentatively!) Major problems with headaches 01/12, substitued mino with doxy.&l

Rica, how many times a day do you take the Charcoal?
As you know, this is pretty much a full time job! I don't remember ever taking it more than once in a day. I drink lots of water all day long, and always take twelve capsules. Charcoal is about the most inert substance there is, I think. Some people say they can't take it because it makes them constipated, but since I already WAS, it didn't matter, and the benefit was unparalled.Rica

If you can't tolerate the charcoal try chlorella (it actually stimulates the bowel). I take 2 pills @ 1000 mg each day and 6 when pulsing.
PPMS-misdiagnosed 2001-diagnosed 2006. Probably caught cpn in birth canal but it didn't pass BBB until my 40s. Minocycline 7 mos.- resulting bronchitis 5 months.Go to private m.d. out-of-plan. Wheldon CAP 3/2/07 Stopped 12/12; resumed 12/13

I am going to go at it with the Charcoal " a la Rita ", and do it for several days rather than being hit and miss.My capsules are 170mg. Is that a standard dose
Somewhere here is Dr Stratton's protocol. I should have realized that there may be different strengths of capsules. Mine are 260 mgs, I think. The object is to take 3 grams - 3000 mgs. You should be able to take about seventeen capsules. You may be able to get highter potency. Once I got two bottles of tablets - YUCK. The capsules go right down - now. When I was having a really hard time swalliowing, nothing went down well.Anyway, whatever means you use, you must take out the garbage! Otherwise, it rots - where ever it has been left.Rica

I just had a look at some old ones we have here: 250mg, more or less the same as Rica’s. Charcoal does tend to bung you up, though. If you take Yaeyama chlorella, as Arttile says, it has the opposite effect: large but easy stools. You can take as many per day as you like and you can take them whenever you like.................. Completed Stratton/Wheldon regime for aggressive secondary progressive MS in June 2007, after four years, three of which intermittent. Still improving bit by bit and no relapses since finishing treatment.
My old and forever is
My old and forever is charcoal. I have probably taken at least sixty bottles, twelve caprules at a time, always two hours after and another two hours before eating. It has helped me more than I can say - and I still take it every week or so. I can feel the buildup of ...corpses? I know EXACTLY how you feel. This lightens your load, but never instantaneously. Do it every day and it will help tremendously. And I dearly love your name!Rica
