IGG titer keeps increasing.

I received lab results in the mail today and it turns out that my IGG for cpn is now 1:512.  I see the doc that I am trying to get to script antibiotics for me tomorrow.  I have my fingers crossed.  I hope you will cross your fingers for me too.

I am currently taking NAC 600mg and all the supps.  I have had some relief of my fatigue but it still waxes and wains.

I am hoping the NAC is helping to increase my antibodies.

Fingers crossed.

Hello EffieSue... did they also test your IgM and IgA titres and do you have those results?

JeanneRoz ~ DX'd w/ CPN 4/2007; 6/07 -"officially" dx'd w/CFIDS/FM; also: HHV6, EBV, IBS-C, 100 Doxy:BID; 500 mg Biaxin BID; Tindamax Pulses, B12 shots, ERFA Dessicated Thyroid,Cortef, Iodoral 25 mg, Vit D-6,000 uni

 Effiesue,

Titers measure in increments, powers of two, so if the value is at the threshold it can easily bounce between two titer levels.  Look at it more a true - false value then anything with IgA's and IgG's having the most meaning especially when together.  The immune system is very dynamic and Labs are not standard either.  I have found no research on any Cpn blood test to define the amount of infection one may have.

My Cpn IgG values have been solid at 1:1024 for five years with my IgA's dropping two titers roughly in the 18-30 month time on CAP.

Cpn, Mycoplasma, Chronic EBV, M.S.(MRI, Spinal Tap-greater than 5 oligoclonal bands and VEP), PANDAS(OCD). Wheldon CAP (started 12/08), Azithromycin/Clarithromycin(12/09), Lithium, Lamictal, NAC(2.4g/day), D3(15,000IU/day)

My IgG went up after a few months on the treatment and the doctor assured me that was not uncommon.

Started CAP for Cpn on 11/14/10 - Per my doctor, paused Abx 5/18/13 - NAC, T3, St Johns Wort, B-complex, Vit C, Vit D3 (8,000/day), Vit E, Astragalus, Chlorella, Chelation with Alpha Lipoic Acid. Started Buhner protocal (2nd edition) on 8/30/16.

I was really hoping that the increase in my IGG would have been enough to put me on real antibiotics.  It wasn't enough to convince my doc but he will test me again in one month.  I continue to take NAC and methy b12, folinic acid, and other immune support supps.  I hope that my IGG will keep increasing.

To answer the questions.  My IGA and IGM have been negative.  My sister who does not live with me has pos IGA and IGG of 1:1024.  She has such terrible diarrhea that my mom doesn't want her to have antibiotics yet.  She is trying to solve the GI issues first. she doesn't see my doc.  She sees a naturopath who doesn't seem to have a great grasp of cpn.  She is having my sister take banderall for it.  I don't know anything about banderall. My sister is 29 and mentally handicapped.  My mom is her guardian

I am very greatful for all of the support on this web site.  Thank you all for your comments.

Warmly,

Effie
