IgG titer

Hi Everyone, I am new here. I have tested positive fro Lyme Disease 3 years ago and have not improved. I also tested IgG positive for CPN three years ago. My CPN titers were tested again last month and my IgG results are: < 1:16= negmy result: > 1:256 HIGH could this be the reason that I am not getting well? I was also dx'ed with asthma recently with only 50% small airways working....lots of sneezing, sinus and ear issues and severe headaches and head pressure everyday for three years.. Thank you for any input....lot's to read here, looks like i'll be camping out!!

yep, you got CPN.  IgG is indicator for chronic infection.

Mphs, TN. CFS, hypoT (Hashi), adrenal fatigue, hormonal inbalance. right arm neuropathy-getting better. cpn, myco, EBV, CMV, HHV-6. Cap began in 6/07. NAC 2400mg, mino 100mg bid, biaxin 500mg bid. cytomel, flagyl bid continuously.

welcome, rln,   I am glad you found the CPN site.  You can become educated on what CPN is and treatment.  You are very fortunate you were tested and know the cause of your illness.I would start reading at the top of this page on, "Getting Started".  You can learn the tools to help yourself and your physicain on what is indicated to start treatment. Many people start by taking NAC, a supplement you can purchase in your local pharmacy. I would ty a test of 600mgs and see if you have a reacction. It would be like slight flu lilke symptoms. It's also important to to get your D3 levels checked. Most chronic illnesses soak up vivtamin D stores in the body.Read the patient stories on the top of the page to see how many have improved with the treatment protocol. Thanks for sharing.

started Wheldon cap 4/21/08 for Cpn, CMV, EBV, CFS. Cap hold 4/09vascultis. Restart 9/09 with Dr.Powell, restore gut, 4000 D3, supplements,  Pos. Bartonella and Babesia, Rifampin 600 mgs and Biaxon 1 gram.

What was your treatment for Lyme?

Thank you everyone. I have used several of the antibiotics mentioned here....well, in fact all of them at one time or other for my Lyme treatment. I have not, however, used combination therapy. except for Mepron/AZith, Invanz/Alinia.It appears that CPN is a lot like Lyme in that it has three stages...many lyme protocols involve combination therapy as well....i just have not done them.My PCP and lyme doctor are now looking at addressing combo abx and flagyl/tindamax pulses. I have been doing many of the supplements already...though not consistently.I am reading around this site and learning. Someone mentioned brown spots and red spots on skin indicate CPN...where can i learn about this?Thank you in advance,RLN

I was recently took the titer test for CPN.  My IGg number was 1/512.  The doc wants me to start an antibiotic protocal but when I got the lab report it looked like the labs conclusion was that it was a past infection.  I have no clue how this works-any input would be appreciated.  I have been fatigued for years, have bad skin and scalp issues and have had a cough for the past four years.  Why did the lab call it a pastt infection?

Because they don't understand how this disease works! Once you are infected and show some antibodies to the disease, your bloodwork will probably always indicate you were infected. WHat the tests don't know, but the DOCTORS should know, is that this is a stealth infection that hides INSIDE the cells. Blood tests won't see antibodies to a disease that's hiding inside the cell because our bodies don't recognize bacteria inside the cell, therefore our bodies don't fight it and don't create antibodies against it.
