IGG of CPN

Hello, I was wondering if there is anyone out there that has been tested positive with the IGG antigen for CPN?  I was tested positive a few weeks ago, but my own GP is not forthcoming with information on what this actually means.  I have had tinnitus for over a year, I always have a runny nose, I have mucus running down my throat most of the time, my glands on the right side were swollen a year ago, I have Asthma, but i seem to out growing that, I have a nail infection that is not fungal, & a rash on my foot.  I am not sure if having the antibody actually means having some of the infection.  I know the tests are not conclusive and certain protocols need to be followed in order for accuracy, but I have only got so far with my own GP, and I am not getting the answers I need.  I am also trying to conceive, and was wondering is this could be the underlying problem as to why I cannot, another one of those unexplained theories.  Any help or advice would be appreciated.  Thanks all.

From what I have gathered, a high IGG (old infection) with cpn, in view of its stealth properties, means that you harbor this nasty thing, which will creep around for years in your body, giving the illusion that all is well while preparing for any chance to take over  I don't think it ever, ever goes away by itself.

In my case, I had pneumonia when young, and fifty years later, at an opportunity that it recognized and took advantage of, my trek to today began.  If I had known then what I know now, I would have begun the abx protocol and carried it through to the end.  It would have been much, much easier.

I'm sorry your doctor is not being more forthcoming.  Did you get your Vit D level checked?  If so, request your number.  Ask direct questions.  It can help to make a list.  Google can help and we are here to try.

My PCR for Cpn was positive

IGM was 1:400

IGG was 1:3200

Tested in Dr. Stratton's Vanderbilt Univ. lab in Sept 1998

I went thru the Stratton Protocol 12/1/98 - Feb 1, 2004

The protocol in 1998 was:

500 mg. Amoxicillin 2xdaily

500 mg.Probenecid 2xdaily

300 mg. INH - Isoniazid once daily

500 mg. Zithromax Mon-Wed -Fri

(I reduced the Azith dose from 500mgs to 250 mgs the fifth year)

I began with the Zithromax at full dosage and added another drug at full dosage every month

I drank 6 qts water daily

took B12 shots thrice weekly

also used sublingual B12 at bedtime

took charcoal capsules @ 4 grams 2-3 times daily

Tried flagyl one time and had an allergic reaction to it

I will take 1200-2400 mg NAC daily for the rest of my life

Below are links that might help and maybe your doctor will look at them.  NAC is a very good test also.  Quest Labs has a good panel for Cpn antibodies;  IgG, IgM, IgA.  Maybe this will help.

I bet your doc doesn't quite know what to do either.  When I went to my doctor, and my doctor is an older guy, he said he had never ordered the test before and asked me questions about why I wanted it.  I never got to educate him because my test came out negative.  I'm an accountant, but that don't mean I understand taxes.  Everyone expects me to know about taxes, I don't.  I do nonprofit organization accounting, and even after I explain that, folks want to ask me about taxes.  Here's an interesting article, the CPn and it's IgG are secret pals!

If I were you, I'd homework here a bit and see what rings true for you. Ken

Ken I wanted to say this before and thought that others would address you but a negative test can be a false negative.  This is the down side of being tested a false sens of security of your CPn free state.  This why people treat emperically.   If you are on statin type drugs then you are a likely candidate for CPn.   DW took the cure, don't think he insisted on a postive test to convince him.   He cleaned out his blood vessels.   Just my humble opinion, Louise

Louise,

I appreciate the thought.  I may very well go for another test one day.  I don't want to say I'm ignorantly confident, I'll say I have a calculated sense.  I really don't have any history or current issues that suggest to me that I should worry.  Now I have high cholesterol, or had, I gave up eggs and I take Lipitor and I'm below 200.  Outside of that, I eat what I want.  I've taken nac and I don't get the flu thing.  But, yeah, maybe next year I'll try it again.  Hey, we are road tripping to Vanderbilt in 2 weeks!  HooRay!

Holly, I hope you find a way to get your CPn infection treated.   Copies of all your medical records and test are your legalright in the USofA you have to make it official sometimes and sign a release to get them but always get all copies of all tests that you have done and keep a folder.  When you go looking for another doctor to treat your CPn you will have all your test.   Maybe you can educate your MD maybe not some are successful others find someone else to treat the infection.  Louise
