Hypertension improvement report

Hello, everyone. I 've been experiencing a GREAT improvement in my hypertensioni and decided it calls for a report here.

For a background info: I've been having high BP for about 10 years. It started around the same time with my hypothyrodism symptoms. I've been taking antihypertensives on a daily basis for the past 5 years. Last fall, prior to starting CAPi in Jan'08 my BP went out hand and even on medications it was often 160/100.

I've been on Cap  since begining of Jan'08. On my current protocol (Rifampin 600mg /day + Doxyi 100 mg x 2/day) since March. At first my BP was spiking a lot. Hypertension crises always were a part of my die-off reactions. My BP became more stable as I was improving in general with arthritis, fatigue, pains.

Well, in the beginning of July one morning I felt very weak and dizzy after taking my normal morning dose of enalapril. I check BP and it was 104/65 which was a bit on a low side for me. So I thought enalapril must have been cumulated in my body and I took a break from it for a couple of days. I monitored BP and re-started enalapril slowly according to BP numbers. However, a couple of weeks later I still needed only may be 1/3 of my old dose.

It gets even better. Within past couple of weeks my BP improved even more and for last 10 days I am taking BP meds only once every other day and even lesser dose, just a 1/2 of starting dose (2.5 mg).

I don't know if this improvements in BP have anything to do with my CAP treatment but I am certainly hopefull that it have. It would be wonderful not to be on antihypertensives as a daily regiment.

Nata, <>Only one person's

Nata,

<>Only one person's opinion here, but my vote is for the abxi. You are one of a growing number whose BP has fallen to normal. How absolutely wonderful for you. There are many things that still surprise us and this one is certainly out of nowhere.

<>My husband went on the protocol for his BP - that fell only a small amount but his gingivitis which was causing major mouth problems went away completerly.

If I remember rightly Dr

If I remember rightly Dr Wheldon's blood pressure normalised when he did the CAPi, as far as I know it is still normal.   Sarah may let us know later.

Mine on the other hand is still very unstable and particularly so when I am doing a pulse.   Hopefully one day I will also be free of any medication for it.

Pleased that it is working for you.

Within a few weeks of

Within a few weeks of starting CAPi, my blood pressure dropped to normal. Nata, maybe you can get off the antihypertensives for good! We have an old survey graphing people's BP improvement on CAP.

Arthritic, that's great

Arthritic, that's great news! I had normal bp before starting abxi but it's been up and down ever since I started the azi. I ended up having to add Benicar. Sometimes lately when I check it though it's been as low as 97/69, though rarely. But I'm hoping that means it's gradually returning to normal and I can get off the Benicar before too long. I still am not even on the full CAPi. I'm going to add doxyi soon so your news is encouraging that being on the full CAP might finally get my bp back to normal.
