How long can I pulse?

Submitted by Homina on Sun, 2011-10-09 20:13

This is my first attempt to pulse beyond five days

I feel pretty good after seven days

Wondering how many of you have pulsed beyond five days and what made you end the pulse

Hello Wiggy, did you get asked to explain yourself as well?  I refused but sent Homina a PM instead.................Sarah

Sarah,

Yes, they wanted a piece of identification and I did explain who I was but thought perhaps this info was going to Jim Image removed.

5oo mgs Ceftin 2 x/day, 500 mgs Zithromax, 500 mgs 2 x tini pulses,100 mg diflucan, 4.5 ldn; Wheldon protocol for MS April, 2006 to May 2008. 2008 MRI shows NO NEW DISEASE ACTIVITY, 2012 MRI no new disease activity.

Before the upgrade, I was able to access and publish posts stuck in the queue.  Now, I can't even find them, so I can't help, guys.  Sorry.  Image removed.

Hopefully this isn’t just the quiet before the storm, but you can pulse for as long as you feel able, but just remember that it won’t necessarily make things shorter.................... Sarah

I, too, will try to reply again.

Every day I take two 500 mg flagyl.  Six years ago I took my first pill and within an hour felt the worst ever in my whole life.  Now I don't even notice.  I believe when I pulsed that it was 54 or 57 five-day pulses.  The only reason we pulse is that we need to come up for air, so to speak.

The original was steady, daily flagyl, I think, but it can be horribly hard, though necessary, and so worthwhile.  But, as you are finding, it gets easier.

3/9 Symptoms returning. Began 5 abx protocol 5/9 Rifampin 600, Amox 1000, Doxy 200, MWF Azith 250, flagyl 1000 daily. Began Sept 04 PPMS EDSS 6.7 Now good days EDSS 1 Mind, like parachute, work only when open. Charlie Chan  In for the duration.&am

I've taken flagyl as long as a month.  That's my personal limit.

Congrats on getting past 5 days.

I am now up to 15 day pulses per the Vanderbilt CAP, started out on five day pulses.

I went from 5 days to 7 to 11 to 15 over 8 pulses stopping when I felt I had had enough usually severe inflammation stopped me  or once a foot infection.

I wanted to work up to 15 days to avoid resistance issues for associated bacteria such as H. pylori.

I know some have reported going continuous on the Flagyl without ill effect but I think I remember reading somewhere that peripheral neuropathy can be an issue for long-term use.

Working up to 15 days wasn't easy and I couldn't have done it had I need it to be functional all the time. looks like your holding up well so I would continue until you get some warning signs.

Having got this far I don't feel the need to go any longer than 15 days as after two weeks I am definitely ready for a break from the toxic feelings it produces, & my family is ready for a break from the toxic me.

Good luck,  & let us know when you decide enough is enough.
