Horrible stomach ache on Saturday

I took my first Azithro on Fri the 3rd.  Yikes it cost me $90.  Ouch!!  I might look on the internet to get it cheaper.  Thank goodness it's only M, W, F.  Anyway I do have Candida/IBSi whatever you personally want to call it.  So I'm used to stomach pain and discomfort.  However on Sat I had a horrible stomache ache all day.  Also partly on Sunday.  Now sometimes I don't even realize I have a stomach bug until days later when someone else comes down with it in the family because I always blame it on my Candidiasis.  But now I'm wondering if it was the azithro, a bug, or just my candidiasis.  I'm taking another one on Monday night so we'll see if I have a stomach ache on Tues.  If it was the abxi, that will be great because something is reacting to the abxi

well, i have CPNi strongly

well, i have CPNi strongly in digestive system. I used to have a lot stomach problem caused by that so that can be the root cause of your problem as well. Candida can be there too, but they say candida shouldnt be a problem with a strong immunei system. So maybe you have that as secondary infection and when you clear up CPN, your candida will be cleared out as well. Just a thought and my experience but of course i cant be sure in your case...

From one who suffers from IBSi, but not candidiasis I would like to know what you mean by stomach ache: where abouts in your digestive tract is the pain? colon, stomach, oesophagus, small intestin?

In my experience Azithromycin gives me oesophagus pain unless I manage it carefully, but does not seem to affect my IBS.

(yes you can get it cheaper on the internet at edrugnet.com 48 caps for $113)

gkiri, The first dose I

gkiri,

The first dose I took of azith gave me diarrhea about an hr after dosing it.  It was the only time this happened to me so you might be fine.  Also, a friend of mine took azith for a respiratory infection and got a really bad stomach ache from it.  I believe he took it on an empty stomach.

You may want to try to take your azith with food.  Also, the generic kind is alot cheaper than the name brand so you may want to be sure you order the azithromycin vs Zithromax.

I have terrible GI pain and

I have terrible GI pain and rumbling. It seems to be worse since Dr P started me on Vitamin Di. I was diagnosed with colitis last month and may have irritation from the supplementsi started. Mine is in the small bowel area. Any ideas to help settle it down other than charcol are appreciated.

Fund, Adding only one

Fund,

Adding only one supplement at a time and titrating them might make a big difference.  You might be increasing die off which is triggering more inflammationi.  It's good to get die off but I'm sure you want to maintain the host.

I had to increase Vit D very slowly as I definitely began to get die off from it as well as many others I know have too.  Some folks I know can't tolerate much D at all, but I've diligently worked on titrating my doses up along with using anti-inflammatory measures and toxin moppers for secondary porphyriai symptoms.

I first only added a multi vite containing 400 ius along with 5-10 mins of sunbathing with my head covered, here in sunny Phoenix in the spring, after avoiding all natural and supplemental sources of D for nearly 4 yrs due to the Marshall Protocol.  I worked my dosage of Vit D up to just over 2000 ius/day and I was able to go out in the sun for 30 mins or more without sunblock before the fall began.  Now the sun is not so much of an issue with the change of season and so I will continue to supplement.

Since adding D back into my regime, I also regained ALL of my lost bone density and am now back to pre-2002 levels, nearly in the normal bone density range for my age, 50, by adding D back in.  Last year, I had lost all bone levels gained since 2002 when I worked my D levels down to single digits.

I use chlorella, turmeric, quercetin, B-12 injections and sublingual and have just started experimenting with cholestyramine.  All of these substances are good for toxin mopping and some are also helpful for inflammation.

Reactions and Remedies

I have IBSi and have often had exacerbation of symptoms during CAPi and previously while on the MP.  It waxes and wanes and I believe most of the symptoms are due to increase in endotoxinsi and inflammation due to die off.

I looked a the Vit D I

I looked a the Vit D I ordered from Life Extension. I thought it was 1000 iu per capsule but it is 5000 iu per capsule. I plan to stop it for a couple of days. What dosage should I start with? Any suggestions on constipation?

Fundmyster, Magnesium works

Fundmyster,

Magnesium works well for many for constipation.  You can try different types of magnesium to see which one works for you.  You can also use Milk of Magnesium which is actually magnesium.  Just be sure to take it away from the antibioticsi

You can take a combination of calcium/magnesium which would also contain (typically) about 400 ius for starters.  I would increase the D by 400 ius at a time, (you ought to be able to buy this dose of D) as tolerable until you can take somewhere in the vicinity of 2000 - 4000 ius/day.  Some people take more but this seems to be recommended on this site and by most of the experts.

Thank you everyone for the

Thank you everyone for the advice.  I need to update my blog now so that it can be an acurate step by step journey of the whole experience.  I took my 3rd azith dose last night (wed) and so far no stomach ache or severe pain like I had with the first.  Thank goodness.  I still have some digestive issues but I do take my probiotics everyday and can deal with a few digestive issues.

I am going to look at maybe canadian drugs.  I really can't afford even $70 per month of just one abxi.  We'll see.  Michele $113 is still high for me.  I'll do some shopping.  My CFSi has really hurt us financially as I'm sure it has many of you.

I started taking VitD3 before my doxyi and didn't have any severe reactions to it that I remember.  Before I even knew of CAPi my doc put me on 5000 iu of it because my level was so low.
