higly alkaline urine
I am a bit nervous now. Don't know what to write because I want to keep it short. But I don't want to leave out anything important. Increased my Doxyi to 200/day approx 3 weeks ago (still on 300 Roxi and 1000-1200 NACi). In week two I got symptoms I recognize from starting/inceasing abxi. But now it's my urine/bladder..kidneys? that is the problem.
Even before starting CAPi I have sometimes had symptoms from my bladder, pain, feeling like having an infecton when urinating but without an infection (tests made at the health care center)
Also I have had "white fuzzy things" swimming in the urine, Again, doc discovered nothing, but I suspected protein. Finally I found some urine test sticks to order and got them this week. I tried one (without having any bad symptoms) and it reacted only on ph which was very high, 9 or higher. "Aha, that is why my urine feels so strong, irritating when I pee" I thought.
But this morning I woke up with pain over my bladder and slight lower back pain and also those white things in urine.
Testing it showed nothing except high ph. But when I took one of those white things, was very slimy but wrapped nicely round a Q-tip (? according to dictionary), it reacted on protein, white blood cells, and blood.
Called the health care central and spoke to a nurse. She had no idea, maybe something from the vagina she suggested. And the recommeded me to phone the doc. on monday (its friday noon, now , to late to reach him)
I tried to take a sample from vagina to be sure, but did not succeed, it was to dry ( hm, very intimate things to write, but I know you will take it strictly from the medical point of view) . So I think the white things are from bladder or kidneys. I will be sure to wash and dry down there before taking the next urine test so I will be sure it's not contaminated.
Of course if this will get worse I will contact the emergency. And I am already scheduled for a blood test to check liver and kidney function at the health care center. Should have done it this week, but was to tired to get up and get there before 9.30.
But I was thinking maybe some of you have experienced something similar? I am thinking it could be the cpni in my kidneys eacting to the increased Doxy (I think I have them everywhere).
I know antibiotics can damage the kidneys but a hope this is not the case here. And I don't think I have a regular bacterial infection of the bladder.

Not feeling worse now 5-6 hours after writing the text above. No more "white things" so far but weakly positive for protein and blood in the urine.

Quite few people have bladder and kidney symptoms. The white things floating in your bladder could be some small pieces of your bladder lining that has been released. Could be a sign of the CAPi working on Cpni in your bladder. I'm not qualified to say really, but that is my impression. I do have kidney and bladder involvement with Cpn. It has got better over the months but it is still a problem for me at times.
High PH could be down to the Vitamin C. Another thing to point out is that your kidneys are a lot higher up than your lower back. They are situated near your spine just below your ribs.

Can bladders get yeast infectionsi? Little white things would make me think yeast and, of course, yeast is always a concern on long-term abxi.

Michele, what symptoms do you get from your kidneys and bladder when cpni is involved?
I know kidneys are higher up (I did pass the anatomy at med. school even if it was hard
! But then I never made it to the other clinical half because I got ill. Well, of course this was almost 16 years ago. )
But I always get nervous, probably far too nervous, when kidneys and liver are involved. Kidneys because I have an uncle that has had bad kidneys his whole adult life, and had to remove one kidney, and liver because I have had high liver enzymes almost the whole time I have been ill.
Also I think I vaguely recall that an infection or something going on in the bladder can give referred pain to the back, but I am really not sure.
Yes, high ph can be lowered with ascorbic acid, but I wonder why it is high in the first place. Is it the antibioticsi doing that, or maybe some of the supplementsi?
Well, I am getting that typical dull, probably die-off headache now, over the eyes and sinuses and also back of the head, so it is not impossible the back and the bladder are also die-off. So I vote the white things are pieces of the mucousa from the bladder (or urinary tract) as you suggested.

Sunnivara,I think bladders can get yeast but I am not sure what symtoms it would give. And would the yeast be localised only to the bladder? Because I don't have it anywhere else.

I would think yeast could be localized to the urinary tract since it can be localized to the vagina or mouth. According to this article symptoms can be similar to bacterial infection.

My problems are mostly water retention (Oedema), high Specific Gravity of urine, which gets worse when I am pulsing. I also get bladder discomfort and occasional incontinence at that time. The bladder discomfort tends to fluctuate and is usually worse in the morning and disappears completely during the day...

This is a very good link on our site here from Dr. Stratton that Cypriane referenced in another post: http://www.cpnhelp.org/recentobservations explaining how CPN gets into our "filtering" organs (including the kidneys).
My previous doctor was monitoring my kidneys as I kept having microscopic hematuria which she initially thought my gluten intolerance was causing. A couple of years later, I then experienced a kidney stone and started having frequent UTIi's.

Since I added the Azith to my ABXi a few months ago I have had sporatic but annoying bladder irritationi (feels like I have bladder infection) and occasional incontinence. It is usually worse on the days I take the Azith. I have again had recent tests done on my kidneys with nothing abnormal. It also acts up if I am not diligent with the probiotics.
I believe (as many others here) I have CPN in my bladder or even kidneys and the antibiotics are attacking it; i.e., the bladder irritation/discomfort.
Bladder problems are not fun. I've been taking cranberry tablets, lots of water and Pyridium tablets (you can buy an OTC version at drugstores -- at least in the US).
I hope yours gets better.. heat on the pelvic area helps too.

I have had many bladder infectionsi one after another years ago, it was a hard year on my bladder. since my last pulse I had pang of the start of an infections I recognized; but I drank lots of water & nothing came of it.
I fully expect at some point in the recovery process to revisit the area as I am quite sure the CPni is there. Remember to take your cleansing rememdies when the symptoms start to help out.

I don't feel anything at all from the bladder today and according to the urine test strips everything is ok. Also the ph is not so high. No white things after I started to wash before peeing, so that might very well have been a contamination.
I really think this bladder pain and strange urine was/is die off because of the increased doxyi. I think my liver doesn't deal well with toxines and the die off toxines accumulates.
Today I have had very much the same symptoms, (pain over eyes, sinuses, headache, "dark cloud over my head", irritability and no stress tolerance) as when I started Roxy in november, although not so intense.
(Glucose doesn't help much, I took a lot of it today and I did take charcoal last night. I have no abdominal pain and I did poor mans porphyrine test today - no dark urine despite several hours in daylight.)
That is why I think this is also mostly die off and it seems the symptoms started with that bladder thing and after that developed to the symptoms I am having now. That also means it will pass as it did last time in nov-dec (I intended to write about it in a blog post but didn't get to it due to a lot off illness in the rest of the family).
