First update after 5 days on the Wheldon Protocol

Thought for sure I had Lyme.  Continued downward spiral for several years, finally got to a LLMD and he called me back on Tuesday and said I had CP with a CD 57 of 59.

I started twice daily minocycline on Tuesday along with Cholestryamine powder ever other day.  Upped my vit b12 shots from 1 a week to 3 a week plus b12 losenges a couple times a day.  I am already thinking more clearly and starting to sleep better.  I had most of the supplements and/or was already taking them and upped my NAC to 2400mg/daily.  I was doing the Buhner Herbal Protocol in preparation for the abx that I thought I would get to treat lyme.  I cut the Buhner Protocol by half and continue to take it.

I will take my first arith. this afternoon to see how I feel.  I felt tired on Wed and Thursday but better on Friday and much better on Saturday.

Thank you for the site and all the information!!!  I have spent at least 8 hours reading, reviewing and consuming the CPN Org information. Patient Stories are amazing!

Note I have had the cough for about 12 years (thought it was allergies) and started to experience a health decline about 8 years ago.  The last 3 years my symptoms have gotten much worse.

All the Best, MattH

Welcome to the CPN site. It sounds like you have done your homework and are progressing very well to the protocol. It's good to get the moppers on board at the very start of treatment to reduce the toxin load from the antibiotics. I also use the cholestryamine and have found it to clear my system very nicely from the toxic effects.

Thank you for sharing your history and I look forward to reading more as you progress with the treatment.

started Wheldon cap 4/21/08 for Cpn, CMV, EBV, CFS. Cap hold 4/09vascultis. Restart 9/09 with Dr.Powell, restore gut, 4000 D3, supplements,  Pos. Bartonella and Babesia, Rifampin 600 mgs and Biaxon 1 gram.

I have been on mino now for about 7 weeks after about two weeks my cough all but vanished.  I started pulsing Zith Sun/ Tue/ Thur and just started my third round.

My cough has come back.  Not nearly as strong but persistent.  Does the cough cycle until CP is just finally got rid of it?  I was hoping I would not hear from it again!

Diagnosed with CP, Lyme, EBV, HHV-6 on 6/28/11.  Started on NAC & Mino 2x daily.  Started zith MWF 7/30/11.  Continue to use Buhner Protocol for Lyme.  CD57 at 59.

The quick answer is yes, it will come back here and there, until the CPn is eradicated. And, even then, it takes our nerves, muscles, skin and organs awhile to learn and adapt to their 'new and improved' environment.

Mackintosh,

That makes sense and reduces some of my concerns about it vanishing and then reappearing.  I look forward to the cough leaving for a while again.

Where do I look to find out about the CP and MS connection?

Whe I was diagnosed with CP, I was told that MS could go into remission.  What I did not realize to ask much new information a the time, does testing positive for CP mean I have MS?

I have not had an MRI or been to neurologist.  My LLMD is the one that performed the tests and told me the results.

Thanks and All the Best, Fresh Air

No, it doesn't mean you have MS. It means you have a chlamydia pneumoniae infection which may end up manifesting itself as MS, or CFS, or IBS, or ulcerative colitis, or rosacea, or arthritis, or any number of other things, depending on your genetic makeup, your environment and/or your diet.

What it does mean is it's far better to destroy your CPn infection now than it is to allow it to further entrench itself inside you and eventually debilitate or kill you.
