First pulse down, x many to go-oh joy!

Since my last entry, which seems ages ago, it's been a rather rocky path. I had one good week with an all round decrease in symptoms and then things went downhill. The next week I started a bout of shingles, this made me take a big step backwards. I spent the next week recovering only to be hit by a nasty cold. So after this all my symptoms reverted to almost the state before the CAPi. The only things I held onto were better flexibility in my left foot and occasionaly better vision.

The recovery from the cold took two weeks but left me back down at the bottom of the ladder. However my tale of woe doesn't end here, the next blow was a stomach bug which laid me out yet again, luckily I could still manage the CAP. This unhappy set of circumstances has accounted for more than two months and I just haven't wanted to join in with anything, so I've not posted, sat by the fire and concentrated on getting better.

At the beginning of Dec, I felt that it was about time to try the first pulse, so I took 1x400mg tab with breakfast on the 9th. I felt a little spaced for about an hour but that passed. For the rest of the day I felt slightly more flexible than usual and more mentally positive (I think that was perhaps just hope). I also had a little more energy and remained active for longer.

Bearing in mind all the advice about not pushing it, I left a day and because I had felt no negative reaction I took two tabs on the third day, one morning and one evening. I then left another days space and took the full three tabs. Pulse 1 done.

So far there doesn't seem to be any improvements but neither are there any negative reactions, I'm just crossing my fingers and hoping!

Onward and upward

Robert

Robert, Not to sound like a

Robert, Not to sound like a cheerleader, but that 'stomach bout' may have been a round of cpni-kill and you may be farther along in this game than you think. So many people here have had reactions in the digestive system, which makes sense as most of your blood cycles through there on a daily basis, so cpn is probably firmly entrenched there, too. Good for you! You're a survivor of diving into the deep end. 'Broken the duck'!!!!!!!!

Hello Robert, long time no

Hello Robert, long time no see!

I'm glad you are so much on the mend after the last two months that you fealty able to start yore first pulse.  Don't worry about feeling no reactions I only did on my fifth pulse.  part from that, I only really knew I was on a pulse because I could burst into tears at  moments notice, or felt like hitting  out at the first person who disagreed with me...........Sarah

Hi Robert I have to agree

Hi Robert

I have to agree with MacK about the stomach thing.  Pulses affect me in a delayed fashion so far.  My stomach has been bothering me & I thought virus, for about 10 secs. & then thought, CPni again, we are not done in the gut just yet!

Hi Ruth, I'm fairly certain

Hi Ruth, I'm fairly certain that both you and Mack are right but thanks a bundle for wishing a bad stomach on me-lol. I had more than a suspicion that I would have issues with my stomach function as it has been a problem for many years.

 Robert- I had energy

Robert- I had energy rushes like that from the first couple doses of flagyli, and then tinii, especially the first year or so. I attributed it to the kill making ATP more available to me rather than the bug, but there could be some other stimulant effect (MAIO inhibitor affects have been attributed to flagyl). It seemed to be a phenomenon for the first couple days only, and once past that point the energy rush passed also.

Robert, sorry to hear that

Robert, sorry to hear that you have been in the wars, but the shingles and cold symptoms seem to happen to lots of people when they start the CAPi.   I hope you don't have any surprise reactions to flagyl but as Jim says they do not always happen when you expect them.Michele (UK) GFAi: Wheldon CAP 1st May 2006.
