First pulse

Two tabs more and my first pulse is done! I've been lucky,  although I may not be, in future! I've been, a little, nauseous, I've been tired, but not horribly fatigued, as before, my remaining sight has been dreadful and my, already dodgy, leg turned to lead! And I've laughed at It all! I have also felt invincible! Doing something positive is so much more empowering than just allowing MSi to do its worst! CPNi is cruel, self-worth is powerful And good!

You did realise you probably

You did realise you probably should start with a ONE DAY pulse the first time and then work up to the full 5 days??

Yeah, I knew!littiger,

Hi littiger,

i knew that would be  acceptable, but once I realised I could tolerate it, I felt I should dothe full 5 days! I believe that's ok!

Well done Jane!!

Well done Jane!! I think now that most people do gradually build up to a five day pulse, but back in 1993 and just after, metronidazolei was a new part of the treatment.  The preference for Vanderbilt was to plunge in and take it every day, but David had the idea to introduce five day pulses, since to most people it was such an awful thing to take.

My first pulse passed uneventfully but my second was worse and my third was the worst thing ever as was David's in different ways, but if we had started straight away,  it might well have proved so bad that we would have abandoned it.  This happened in the Vanderbilt flagyl trial, which had to be stopped early because too many people found the treatment too awful......................Sarah

Thanks Sarah,i really, really

Thanks Sarah,

i really, really hope your fourth was ok for you! Does it get easy?  I used to take weekly, self administered intra muscular Avonex jabs and they were awful! Always put me on my back for a day and a half, it got easier, but not much!

Yes Jane, my third year pulse

Yes Jane, my third year pulse was by far the worst: the pain in my right arm was unbelievable and it did make it slightly weak for a few weeks afterward, but it was never repeated............Sarah
