Hello

I notice some of you on this forum use Biotin in high doses

Does this help you?

How does this help you?

Thanks

hi Homina,

i use Biotin, as advised , at relatively high levels, but not, yet, milligrams.  My first, fairly major, symptom was optic neuritis, which means I'm partially sighted, I can't see my grey hairs and my husband just gets better looking! Biotin, or maybe the CAP, means that colours have become bright. I never lost colour definition, but they faded, gradually, over time, at first this was disastrous, especially as I worked in the arts, but it has turned out to be ok. I'll use the very high dose biotin after CAP, as I believe it has, already, helped but it seems,to me, daft not  to get rid of the infection first.

Hi All!

I have tried a great many different supplements, herbs and spices over the years and I can't honestly say that I can definitively say this one or that one is good or not. I personally have just found it difficult to tell. I am up and down myself like a yo-yo anyway.

However, I have known a person that has been taking biotin in various doses. Before biotin, this patient had urinary inconvenience. At just under 300 mg, this patient still suffers bowel incontinence. Within four days of doubling the dosage of biotin, the incontinence problem was resolved. That is quite startling. Having reverted to the lower dose, the bowel incontinence returned. This patient is currently on about 560 mg per day and doing OK. Perhaps I should experiment with taking huge doses too.  Up to now, I can't say my dose of approximately 225 mg has made any noticeable difference.

SG, that is amazing!.............Sarah

Completed Stratton/Wheldon regime for aggressive secondary progressive MS in June 2007, after four years, three of which intermittent.   Still improving bit by bit and no relapses since finishing treatment.

Since I started taking biotin, my vision has improved remarkably.  I usually take my glasses off when highway driving, since I only need glasses for reading now.  When I don't take the biotin for a couple of days, I notice my vision slips a bit.  If I have to take it forever, I suppose I will, if it means better vision in the long run.

My nails and hair, however... are growing at ridiculous speed and it's a constant battle to keep both trimmed.

Thanks

One thing I noticed is when using the CAP or other Bactericides my hair and nails grow faster and the nails are denser . If I use biotin if my hair and nails grow even faster wow. I could use improved vision expecially at night.

I have read a couple posts about biotin improving energy that is what I would like

I checked and I only take 200,000 mcg per day! No wonder my nails are still short and brittle! But, even at that dose, my sight has improved, despite being  severely affected by MS. Give it a go!

I think I got my  sums wrong! How many mg are there  in 200,000 mcg please?

Thanks Supaguy and Mackintosh, I am taking quite high levels of Biotin! After reading Supaguy's post, I'll double this though! No incontinence, just urgency, I'll report improvements and still intend to take the very high dose, after the cap.

Hi All!

☺️

I have just started taking biotin again after running it out last last summer. I just didn't have the energy or the will to make up biotin capsules when I couldn't really see that it was making any difference.

?

Anyway, I recently bought some more biotin and made up some size 0 capsules. That is a very heavy dose; about 425 mg per capsule. If I am walking the coastal path next week, I'll know it's the biotin that's done it.

However much you take, it will take at least a year I guess, but keep on and it will be worth it.  You will have to keep cutting your hair and nails though, since they are all ectoderm, like your nervous system! I'd better do an update soon in my biotin blog.

Hey SG,

Your constant supply of kryptonite will see you through,
