Could you spare a moment, everyone?

I directed someone to our site and commented on the Physicians Page. He told me he cannot see it and when he typed in the web address (which I read to him), he got a message saying he's not authorized to view that page.

As an admin, I see nearly everything, so I'm of no use in diagnosing the problem.

Could each of you just chime in here, as to whether you can see Physicians Pages as an option, along the top banner? Thanks so much!

Yes I have not been on the site as frequently recently. My fault. Lazy me. How have you been? how many pulses down? Sonal has finished nine and is feeling good -- but not more mobile --  after this pulse although felt terrible during it. Keep in touch. Take care

unfortunately Sonal seems to have developed shingles as of yesterday and she is hurting badly. Of course she has started the meds for shingles while continuing with her protocol antibiotics plus supplements. Any thoughts on this? Take care

So so sorry to hear of yet another hurdle to overcome! Im hoping it'll resolve quickly and smoothly!

All I can think is all rubbish pushed out of system and how our bodies are having a deep deep cleanse right now.

She seems to be already better. Spoke to her this morning. Less pain. Hopefully another week and the worst will be over as far as shingles is concerned. I too had shingles 2018, i think, or was it last year? Can't remember. I did nt have much pain, but lot of discomfort with those blisters on my torso.

Hopefully as you said, it maybe deep cleanse or some thing like that. Fight on everybody. Take care

Dear Sarah, is it ok for Sonal to take her protocol abx plus supplements as well as some meds for shingles for which she also needs some pain killers. She developed shingles three days ago.

Any thoughts on this? xxx

I'll just jump in here and say ask a pharmacist if there are any drug interactions you should be aware of. What are the medications for shingles?

Neena, she must take everything she needs. Shingles can be jolly painful while it lasts but she want to avoid scratching it.

Mac, shingles is a viral disease so no interactions with CAP. 

Completed Stratton/Wheldon regime for aggressive secondary progressive MS in June 2007, after four years, three of which intermittent.   Still improving bit by bit and no relapses since finishing treatment.

I made a mistake. Sonal is taking 500mg twice a day of Valcivir, recommended by a doctor. PLus ointment and SOS paracetamol . Thanks again

Sonal has been advised Valcivir 1 gm twice daily, plus activir ointment to be applied locally. She takes some paracetomal when in pain. And of course she continues with her protocol meds for MS plus all supplements. She is better today -- yesterday a lot of pain, less today. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks Sarah and Mac for "jumping in"as you said, most welcome to come in any time. Your advice suggestion most welcome.

Dear Chris and all others,

Sonal says she already feels better, in the sense less pain. A week is over now and I hope another week this new enemy will be on the run!

Its just very stressf ul for her -- more meds to be added to those of the protocol. Plus her daughter too unwell and her son in the midst of exams. Fortunately, my son, her husband, works from home mostly, and has been around to help.

Thanks for your good wishes. She is already in such bad shape that any small additional problem gets magnified. But she always keeps her chin up and is very positive.

I may be the 'worrier' of the group, but only because I know so many people who are 'on the protocol' are also fiddling around with it, adding meds and supplements we might not be aware of.

Be mindful, everyone, that supplements and herbs can have interactions, too, so always assess EVERYTHING you're taking that's not on the protocol as we know it.

Sonal who has finished nine pulses is also taking high dose BIOTIN and high dose sublingual methylcobalamin B 12. for last several months, the B-12 for 10 months . I have been wondering whether those doses should be reduced. As far as I remember the supplements suggested by the Wheldon protocol said high dose B-12 for three to six months and then lower the dose. What would you siggest? Also the high dose BIOTIN trials in France patients were put on this for about six months. Sonal has had high dose BIOTIN for over four months now. regards

Neena, I don't know what high-dose means to you, so I can't really speak to that. I found biotin made me agitated, so I really cut back on it.
I take 20,000 units of D3 daily and try to take 20-30,000 units of B12 (methyl) a day. Blood testing found I have low levels of D3 and DHEA, equivalent to that of a 90yr old woman... in other words, I need to supplement. My doctor wanted me to have weekly B12 shots, but I'm still holding back on that, so supplementing orally, instead.

Good of you to respond so promptly, Yes I should have mentioned the dosage. Sonal has been taking methylcobalamin sublingual lozenges 5000 mcg  three times a day total 15000 mcg a day. She has also been taking Pure Biotin 10000 mcg 30 tablets a day making 30 mg a day for over four months.

Should she continue these high dosages or reduce is my question. She has finished nine pulses and will complete a year into the protocol early April when she started with Doxy and Roxy. She started her first pulse in July 2019.

Her condition has stabilised, her stamina has improved, her spirits are good, but her mobility is not much better, maybe very marginally  hardly noticeably better. From standing position on the walker she cannot on her own lie down in bed or sit on a chair.

Hi Sarah and all,

just to let you know Sonal is over her shingles attack. It is now drying up and she has not needed pain killer for last several days. S he plans to start her delayed next pulse, the tenth one, in a week or so.

Her condition is still not good -- better stamina, good spirits, but not much improvement by way of mobility. Hope the next few pulses help her.

Delhi has been bad. Our attention was on the strife in the country and the onslaught by our current fascist government on all kinds of liberties and institutions, including media and the judiciary. Very depressing really, and now the coronavirus!

I'm sorry to hear that Sonal had shingles---it is very painful.  My father-in-law had this --only mildly, thankfully.  Glad Sonal is recuperating now.  

I think the healing process for Cpn is slow.   Even when we kill the infection, there's still the damage that takes a lot of time to heal ---at least in my case.  It's progress that Sonal has better stamina and positive outlook---and it's really great that she has you to keep her going.

I'm always asking myself if I am better off today on the CAP than when I was a year ago without it.   And the answer is always yes.

I've been watching the news about what is happening in India .... it is bad.   I see elements of what is happening in India happening here in the US.

yes you are so very right. I do think that for Sonal too the answere will be yes, she is better off after she started the protocol. NO deterioration, which is a big step forward. And now some healing to look forward to!

Things are bad here, politically, socially, economically and on top of that the corona, which thankfully has not spread that much here in India. With a huge population, that would have been a disaster of a magnitude difficult to imagine.

But politics dreadful with around 50 people killed murdered on Delhi's streets late february, home burnt shops looted destroyed in arson. NO words strong enough to condemn our present government even as Donald Trump was here showering praises on our PM Narendra Modi! He must have his eyes on the American Indian vote in US.

Hi Neena,

That's such great news to hear about Sonal being over with the shingles and can cross that off her list of obstacles for good! I just finished pulse #6 on Friday with still a few days days of naps and "grumpy old man" syndrome and also with no mobility improvement.

As for this coronavirus pandemic, the current political "leaders" of the world which could lead to more borders being closed and cut off our access to ABX. Very worrisome!

Anyway, knowing this forum is for CPN info and support...my best thoughts to Sarah, Macintosh, Kiki, Jan, Lizzie, Boadicea, Sonal, Neena and everyone else!

good news finishing sixth pulse means you must be about nine months into the protocol. That's wonderful. Unfortunately even for Sonal mobility has not improved, but stamina yes. The shingles took her back a step or two as the first week was horribly painful. BUt now that is more or less over. I have advised her to wait a while before doing her tenth pulse which is now due.

Just hoping that the next few months will show definite signs of improvement.

Hello All,

I am new to the group and not familiar with how this website works. I am not sure if this is the correct place to add a comment, or if I should start a blog to get a conversation going? Please point me to a different location if there is a better way to start a conversation.

I started Wheldon for MS (or rather CPN) a while back and just finished my 2nd Flagyl pulse. I am hoping to connect with others and chat and support each other. 

My first question is about charcoal. I was under the impression it is to be used as an as needed supplement, like if you can not tolerate the s/s of the then you take. I have not started taking it yet. Then here, in the comments today I read it is a "mopper"? Would someone explain about charcoal in a little more detail please and define "mopper"?

So now I will attempt to give you a few answers: activated charcoal IS a mopper and if taken regularly will help to stop a build up of gunge in your system.

I didn't like taking charcoal so Ii changed to chlorella instead. Yaeyama chlorella is made in Japan and is the best type. Better to use than charcoal because you can take it whenever you like, rather than leaving at least two hours after antibiotics like with calcium.

Thank you for the information about moppers. I also found some other old posts here. There is so much information, it is taking me time to get around to it all.

Where I am, chlorella is really expensive. I started charcoal in the middle of the night. Seemed to help a little.
