The latest MS wonder drug

A view from Derek Lowe:http://pipeline.corante.com/archives/2013/04/02/tecfideras_price.php"Fifty thousand dollars for a bunch of dimethyl fumarate? Who's going to stand for that?"

The comment section under the article is fascinating.  Is this med so much more effective as an immunomodulator than doxycycline, that it's worth paying fifty thousand a year for it???  (Um, NO.)And it can be had for pennies per dose, just not in a timed-release capsule?!And, once again, it's a SYMPTOM-reducer, not a cure.  Arrrgggghhh!!!!!

The difference between what we do and what we are capable of doing would suffice to solve most of the world’s problems. Mohandas Gandhi

Uh, yeah. The point is to keep everyone sick and just treat the symptoms a bit. Make them think they are getting the latest and greatest drugs (and hugely expensive drugs).Diabolical, isn't it?Raven

Who here suffers from alopecia or warts?  I know someone who had a hair transplant: he must have paid a lot for it, but not that much, and not every year, I would hope!..................Sarah    Journey through Light and Shadow

Completed Stratton/Wheldon regime for aggressive secondary progressive MS in June 2007, after four years, three of which intermittent.   Still improving bit by bit and no relapses since finishing treatment.
